A Closer Look at DeWitt’s 2-0 Start

They first came away with a win against <strong>Haslett </strong>in week 1, 69-42 in <strong>DeWitt's </strong>Favor. This past Friday night they took on <strong>Mason</strong>, and won 55-21. <strong>DeWitt </strong>is always a strong program and these performances early could mean that <strong>DeWitt </strong>is destined to make a long playoff run and get back to the state title game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Players Coming up Big For DeWitt</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='587931' first='Abram' last='Larner'] | <a href="https://x.com/LarnerAbram">@LarnerAbram</a> | <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2PyANe">Hudl</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Larner had a great game in the win over <strong>Haslett</strong>, scoring multiple touchdowns and coming down with an interception. When you are trying to have a high scoring offensive team, you must have a guy like Larner who is a playmaker. Larner followed up his excellent performance in the win over <strong>Haslett</strong> with another nice game against <strong>Mason</strong>, where he had multiple touchdowns. He had a key forced fumble that got his team the ball back, against <strong>Mason</strong>. Bender has done an excellent job of blocking on the outside at receiver, several of his blocks were a big part of his teammate getting free running room on the outside. He had a nice run on a toss play to him on the outside in the <strong>Mason </strong>game. <strong>DeWitt </strong>will line Moore up in the back field as a half back and they will give him direct snaps behind center for designed quarterback runs. Moore has made many plays thus far and will continue to do so this season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Gavin Dusseau | <a href="https://x.com/gavin_dusseau">@gavin_dusseau</a> | <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2Q1a8i">Hudl</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dusseau is an explosive and powerful blocker at the fullback position. He had a key block on a scoring run play against <strong>Haslett</strong>. Dusseau also plays defensive end for <strong>DeWitt</strong> and has the ability to rush the passer. He had a nice quarterback back pressure in the <strong>Haslett </strong>game. Larner accounted for several touchdowns in the <strong>Haslett</strong> game. Larner plays quarterback for <strong>DeWitt</strong> and has very good speed and like several of his teammates can really accelerate in the open field. You could tell that Larner was feeling confident in the <strong>Haslett</strong> game and had a lot of trust that his receivers were going to make plays for him. Larner is a guy I was keeping an eye on heading into this season and he has looked great. Larner is a guy who continues to improve and will help lead the way for<strong> DeWitt </strong>to keep putting up points this season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
