2027 Rankings Update- Newly Added Defensive Backs!

Rutledge lines up at safety and can provide terrific coverage over the top of the field. He plays with a ton of speed, instincts, and pursuit that allows him to make impact plays all across the field, regardless of where he initially lines up pre-snap. Rutledge is really good in run support- he is great at tracking and bringing down the ball carrier in the open field and down by the line of scrimmage. In coverage, Rutledge can bait quarterbacks into bad decisions and capitalizes frequently by using his hands to make plays on the ball. All of this was easy to see throughout his freshman season, he ended the year with 32 total tackles (19 solo) and one interception. Rutledge is already a big-time contributor to Moody's defense as an underclassman and is set up for a big sophomore season this fall. Jones lines up at safety and can make plenty of plays all around the field- he is excellent at playing against the run and shutting down opposing passing attacks. Jones is highly athletic and plays with a lot of instincts- he is excellent at reading and reacting to plays and always finds himself around the ball making an impact. Jones is a versatile defender and makes a ton of plays in both man and zone coverage- he has the athleticism to stay with anyone lined up across from him and does a great job using his hands to break up passes and haul in interceptions. Jones made plays all over the field last season, he ended the year with 81 total tackles (39 solo), one interception, 3 pass breakups, and one forced/recovered fumble. Blevins, a dual sport athlete in baseball and football, has a ton of athleticism and can make tons of plays for his team. At 6'1 180, Blevins has great size at the position and is super talented in coverage. He is quick on his feet, does a great job of not getting beat downfield, and consistently uses his hands to jar the ball free and bring in interceptions. White is also a reliable force against the run- he doesn't shy away from contact, is a really good tackler, and plays with a ton of pursuit every snap. It was easy to see this last season as Blevins had a terrific first year starting. He ended the year with 77 total tackles, 3 interceptions, 5 pass breakups, and one forced/recovered fumble. Although not playing as much throughout his freshman season, Jones has the tools and talent to be a big-time contributor in his team's secondary this fall. At 5'9 150 Jones has a ton of speed and quickness to his game, making him a player to be on the lookout for this year. Jones is currently listed as a safety on Florence's roster which fits his size and skill set perfectly- he will be able to make a ton of plays when he ends up taking the field for Florence.
