He is very athletic for his size, can block in space and does a nice job at sustaining blocks downfield and getting immediate vertical push off the LOS. Summers is a very physical tackler that brings a nice thump at the POA, flows well to the ball backside and can redirect and trigger quickly while seemingly always around the ball. He is twitchy and explosive with the ball in his hands that does a nice job knifing upfield, making defenders miss in the open and has a third level gear in the clear. Rich also shows he can stretch the field over the top and go up and win on 50/50 balls as well. He is a long and athletic edge rusher that is explosive off the ball, shoots his hands quickly and establishes leverage at the LOS with relentless pursuit to the ball. He also does a good job at setting the edge with a strong punch and is active against the run while a very twitchy and fast player off the edge with natural bend, initial get off and redirect abilities.
