In this report we will take a look at the off-season and summer preparation of five Western Kansas quarterbacks from the class of 2025. Most of these guys chose to stay close to home and work in their team's off-season training programs, but also played 7v7 and branched out on occasion to hit camps and clinics to see how they stack up against the competition.

In particular, a number of the QB's below attended the Hill Brothers 5 Star Showcase, which was a success and hopefully continues as they do a great job supporting Western Kansas football.

So, without further adieu, I bring you the Western Kansas Five - quarterbacks on the verge of standout seasons in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='1228459' first='Casen' last='Carroll'] , 6'2, 185, Colby, '25. An athletic, versatile playmaker who ran and passed for 1,300+ yards and threw 13 touchdown passes, he has been laser focused in the off-season getting ready for his senior year. He will be leading a high-octane passing attack that includes a couple of big, athletic receivers in 6'3 [player_tooltip player_id='1115462' first='Guy' last='Tubbs'] and 6'3 [player_tooltip player_id='1228445' first='Kasey' last='Giesenhagen']. A dual-threat southpaw with a tight shoulder rotation and quick release, he throws surgical strikes in the short-to-intermediate passing game, and throws the long ball with good touch. This summer he has been busy working on his QB skill sets and went to camps at the University of Northern Iowa, Arkansas State and Fort Hays State. He has also started generating interest with numerous offers from Division II and NAIA schools to date. He has been pounding the weights and doing his speed work in the Colby off-season training program and has his 40 down to 4.7. He is getting ready to go full throttle this fall and have a breakout year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115094' first='Aden' last='Alvarado'] , 5'10, 170, QB, Ulysses, '25. Another dual-threat quarterback flying under the radar in Western Kansas, he can burn defenses with his speed or strike with his arm terrorizing opposing defenses. He has excellent wheels, with great burst and electric feet, that he uses to routinely carve up defenses. When the play breaks down, he is just getting started, using his elusiveness to extend plays looking for the pass or taking off on an entertaining scramble. This summer he hit the Kansas State mega camp, also traveled to the University of Houston, and has been working on his passing mechanics locally. He has focused on training his feet in the pocket, working on a quick shoulder rotation and transferring weight through the hips. He has also been hammering the weights, with new PR's this summer. He recently starred at the Hill Brothers 5-Star Showcase, running a 4.5 40, and had excellent jumps, with a 38" vertical and 9'3" broad jump. Get your popcorn out for this guy, he's going to put on a show.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115508' first='Trace' last='Kopper'] , 5'9, 150, QB/FS, Cimmaron, '25. A dual-threat quarterback with blazing speed, he is coming off a junior season when he piled up just under 2,000 total yards, averaged 7.4 yards per carry and had 15 TD's running and passing. He was also a ballhawk defender, making 47 tackles over the course of the season. And, although he operates in a run-heavy offense, he throws an accurate short pass, with excellent ball placement and the ability to throw accurately on the move. He has been busy in the Cimmaron off-season workout program, establishing new PR's in all the major lifts and hitting the speed work diligently. He really showcased his potential recently at the Hill Brothers 5-Star Showcase when he ripped off the top forty of the day, with a blistering 4.5. He also had one of the best pro agilities at 4.26 and demonstrated his explosiveness with a camp-leading 9'4" broad jump. He is poised and positioned to have a big-time year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1309801' first='Braxton' last='Creed'] , 6'0, 185, Halstead. '25. He is coming off an All-State season as a dangerous dual-threat quarterback who is capable of taking over any game with his athleticism. He was very busy in the off-season, particularly in other sports. As soon as football was over he shifted gears to basketball where he averaged 16.7 ppg, was All-State, and for good measure was Free Throw Champion at the Marion Classic. From there he moved on to track where he and teammates, RB [player_tooltip player_id='1228451' first='Joey' last='Millspaugh'], RB Breeson Bigley and teammate Finn Howard broke a 38-year old school record in the 4x100 relay. As a QB he is making the time this summer to be ready for an encore season, with the plan being to top last year when he ran and passed for just under 2,000 yards and 17 touchdowns. Playing for rising star coach Derek Racette, he will be ready to dominate the competition this fall. Get out and see a stud in the making.

[player_tooltip player_id='442345' first='Jesmar' last='Molina'] , 5'8, 150, ATH, Syracuse. A versatile multi-positional athlete who can play quarterback or wide receiver on offense and coming off the edge or as a safety on defense. What he has been training all summer for, however, is to be a playmaking quarterback getting ready to lead the Syracuse charge. He is a dual-threat QB who can make things happen with his arm or his legs. He has been diligently working at perfecting his craft all summer, watching a ton of tape and focusing on reading defenses. His arm strength has improved significantly as he worked on launching the long ball and high-velocity throws. When he wasn't crushing his PR's in all the major lifts, he has been doing his speedwork and working on agilities. He also went to the BVU camp in Iowa, where he was one of the top participants. His hard work is getting ready to reap dividends this fall. Get out and see a guy getting ready to take his game to the next level.

In conclusion, these guys are going to light things up this fall, so get out and see them excel while you still can. And, in keeping with my approach, if you know of any players “flying under the radar” please reach out to CoolDaddyO via DM on X.
