NY Recruiting Report Pt. XXII

This week, we have 4 commitments after a couple of weeks with nothing there - two prospects I expected to commit before their senior seasons started, whereas the two others were a nice addition to this week's report. Just like last week, a lot of Division III offers are going out with the dead period for FBS schools through the month of July and August prohibiting visits and the focus on the season, but we did get one first P4 offer this week, and multiple prospects picked up their first offer.   Check out last week's recruiting report <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2024/07/recruiting-report-pt-xxi/">HERE</a>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Offers</h2>    Keathley, the RB/LB prospect from Waverly who could end up on either side of the ball at the next level, picked up his third DIII offer after picking up an offer from the University of Rochester.     Westmiller, out of Alden, is a talented two-way lineman who is now up to three DI offers; his most recent comes from Mercyhurst, who recently made the move from DII to DI.     Glenn appears on recruiting reports essentially every week now, and this week, an offer from Gettysburg, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Saint Anselm (DII) gets him on the list this week. I believe Glenn now holds the most DIII offers of any prospect in the State.     The only P4 offer of the week goes to [player_tooltip player_id='1248861' first='Gerald' last='Green Jr'] out of Moore Catholic, who returns as the #1 athlete in New York in the 2026 class, and you can get some good insight on why HERE.     Washington, one of the top players/receivers in Section V, received his first offer from Union College heading into his senior year.     Massaro, an OLB/SS prospect from Long Island, received an offer from the College of New Jersey.     Branch, an athletic RB prospect from Maine-Endwell, picked up his second offer from Misericordia.     Sheehan, out of Monsignor Farrell, is part of a deep 2025 LB class in New York. He picked up his first offer from Misericordia.     Cardona, one of the top Center prospects in New York and a key part of Tottenville's dangerous run game, picked up his first offer from Misericordia.     McSherry, a big physical DT for Bronxville, picked up an offer from Hamilton College and now has a couple of DIII offers.     Whitehead, who is one of the few varsity returners who had playing time last season on Archbishop Stepinac, picked up an offer from Vermilion CC.     Woodard one of the top returning OL prospects in Section III picked up his second DIII offer, this one coming from Hilbert College.     Pepper Jr., who received his first offer last week and was mentioned in last week's report, has received another DIII offer from Ithaca.     Mandaro, a big WR prospect out of Longwood, picked up his first offer from Misericordia and returns as one of the top WRs in Suffolk County.     Valenti, a big DE prospect out of Northport, picked up his second DIII offer from Ithaca after a strong camp performance. Valenti picked up his first offer from RPI not too long ago.     Simpson, who is one of the top WR prospects in New York, picked up an offer from LIU and is one of the top returning WR groups. in the CHSFL at Holy Trinity.     Olkhovets, who has the body type to maybe end up as an offensive tackle at the next level, had a solid Junior season but flashes some traits that could see him climb to being one of the top prospects in Section I. Olkhovets picked up his first offers from Pace and MIT.     Wilmarth, who captains the Rye team and was one of the top LBs in Section 1 last season as a junior, picked up an offer from Trinity College.     Mnahsheh, out of A. Phillip Randolph returns as one of the top defensive backs in the PSAL as a senior. He picked up an offer from NAIA school Culver-Stockton.     Melendez, a TE/Edge prospect out of St. Francis Prep, has posted some strong camp stuff on Twitter. After a strong performance at Pace camp, he picked up an offer from the only DII School in New York.     Bachmore, a talented OL/DL prospect and potential Zellner Award winner this season, picked up his first offer from the University of Chicago.     Mancini, who was one of the top playmakers in Section IV last season, the Maine-Endwell product, is also one of the top track sprinters in the state. Mancini picked up his first offer from Ithaca.    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Commitments</h2>    Campisi, who reclassified and will enroll early in the 2025 class but not play during the season with St. John The Baptist, has committed to LIU after fielding offers from multiple FCS schools. Campisis was busy on the camp scene this summer, and it paid off for the LS from Long Island.     DeAngelo, who is undoubtedly the top player in Section VII in New York, fielded multiple offers before ultimately landing on Wagner. The WR prospect committed to Wagner and became the first New York prospect to land at the Staten Island D1 program.   DeAngelo brings some twitch and quickness to Wagner's slot wide receiver role. He's the type of player you look to get the ball in space through the screen game or on crossing routes with space to run. DeAngelo is really solid after the catch. He gets upfield quick and runs with a high motor, fighting through tackles often. DeAngelo is also athletic enough to potentially transition to defensive back at the next level and has some strong film at the position for Plattsburgh.     Alnutt, who fielded several FBS offers throughout the recruiting process, decided to commit to UNLV this week. Right now, Alnutt is the only New York prospect to make such a jump out west, but he is joining a team that is trending up to be one of the top G5 programs in the country.   Alnutt will bring good size to the edge for UNLV at 6'4, 250lbs, and I think he actually has the frame to get up to at least 270 and could eventually play 3-tech. Alnutt has really quick hands; you see in the film his ability to win hand fights and shed blocks with quick, efficient movements, and in the camp film, you see him excelling by using his hands to rush the passer. On film, two things that also stand out in the Alnutts game are a clear pass-rush plan and really high-motor finishing plays.     The second Canisius commit of the week, Enright will head to Massachusetts and join Holy Cross, committing to the Crusaders just this morning. Holy Cross has consistently been one of the more dominant teams in the Patriot League over the past several seasons and has sent multiple Offensive linemen to NFL camps or FBS schools.   Enright will bring great length and strength to the Holy Cross offensive line. Enright is one of the strongest offensive linemen in the state, and although he plays tackle for Canisius, I can easily see him sliding inside to guard at the next level. Enright also does an excellent job of maintaining his blocks; he does not just strike guys, he stays with them and finishes blocks consistently.
