Breakout Players On Offense From Corky Kell Classic

A good athlete who can really run, Musser played very well in his first game as a starter, leading Prince Avenue to a big 35-28 road win to start the 2024 season. He's young, but Musser made several big plays, running through the West Forsyth defense for 192 yards and one touchdown. A promising passer, Musser was far from perfect, but still threw for two touchdowns in addition to his big performance on the ground. Look for Musser to continue improving and winning big games this season in year two.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='514070' first='Hunter' last='Green'] - West Forsyth</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A do-it-all weapon for the West Forsyth Wolverines, Green is a tough, gritty player who can line up at fullback, tight end, or even running back. The 6-foot-2 240-pounder showed soft hands in the passing game and opened up plenty of running lanes as a blocker in the run game. He made a big impact for the Wolverines offense and proved that he's capable of playing somewhere at the next level. Against an impressive Prince Avenue Christian defense, Green hauled in five passes for 80 yards and one touchdown. He was one of the best players on the field and is bound for a gigantic senior season this fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kaeden Gilstrap - Walton</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After an outstanding 2023 season, the Raiders are heading into the fall with a new quarterback leading the offense, and that was senior Kaeden Gilstrap. A dual-threat weapon who shined as both a passer and a runner, Gilstrap led Walton to a big 30-21 win over Brookwood. The game lastest less than three quarters, but it was easy to see the talent that Gilstrap brought to the table. He threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns through the air while running for 78 more yards on just nine carries. He's a sleeper quarterback to know in the 2025 class who really impressed during the Corky Kell Classic.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Nick Bookman - North Gwinnett</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A creative, dynamic receiver who can find his way behind defensive backs, Bookman was an easy target all game long for a North Gwinnett offense on the rise. When Bulldog quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1566880' first='Ryan' last='Hall'] needed to make a play through the air, he looked for Bookman. The senior wideout showed plenty of speed, ball skill,s and playmaking ability. He only caught three passes, but he took them 41 yards and two touchdowns. Look for Bookman to have a giant final season for North Gwinnett this fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Javien Durham - Houston County</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A junior running back who ran wild in Houston County's season opener, Durham was a major weapon for the Bears during their impressive 57-10 win over Alpharetta. Durhamn, a shifty back with speed, made his presence known early with a 22-yard score to put the Bears on top early. He ended the game with an impressive 127 yards and that one touchdown. He can help in the passing game too, but after his big game over the weekend, look for the Bears to continue feeding their fast-rising junior back throughout the fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='401516' first='Jarvis' last='Mathurin'] - Hebron Christian</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A sleeper wide receiver to know about in the 2026 class, Mathurin is a speedy wideout who can really stretch defenses vertically. He's not the biggest guy, but his quickness, burst, and natural speed down the field still makes him an easy weapon on the passing game. He had a big spring, and appears to be taking his game to the next level. During Hebron Christian's big 48-0 win over Therrell, Mathurin hauled in four passes for 81 yards and one touchdown, averaging an impressive 20.3 yards per catch. He's a wideout on the rise bound for a big junior season in 2024.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
