2029 Watchlist: Prospects to Watch this Fall

These 2029 prospects are flying under the radar after productive 2025 seasons, I am sure that their names will reappear as we cover the 2026 season this fall.    Lewis has the physicality to play the Sam/nickel hybrid and the ranginess to play on the hash at safety in the secondary. He plays aggressively on the perimeter, getting hands on receivers to prevent them from getting a free release or to shed blocks to blow up perimeter screens or outside runs for minimal gains. Likewise, he is a physical tackler who forces receivers to make the tough catch through contact, smothering them as soon as the ball hits their hands. His zone drops are sound at both safety and nickel, keeping receivers in front of him before breaking up on passes to create PBUs. His pass and run reads are decisive and disciplined, as he does not get caught up in the eye candy and misdirection from opposing offenses.      Center is a ball hawk in the secondary who has the range to play single high and read the quarterback's eyes to rob their throws. He caught 3 interceptions in 2025 by breaking on routes to undercut them for impressive interceptions. Center also displays big return abilities, averaging 42 yards per interception return. He is also effective playing the run, as he displays the ability to run the alley and make tackles in space on the perimeter.      Okundaye is a versatile player in the secondary, as he is interchangeable among corner, nickel, and safety. He can track the ball out of the air and make contested catches vs receivers, which led to multiple interceptions in 2025. He is also a reliable tackler in space and on the perimeter, making a multitude of tackles when he was the last defender left on the edge. He especially fits the run well from both the safety and nickel position, with a quick trigger, and he takes great pursuit angles.      Davis is a multifaceted quarterback under center for Cedar Grove, showing that he has the athleticism to be involved in the run game and the fast processing to dissect a defense with his arm. He knows who the primary read is in passing concepts and RPOs, and shows that understanding of where the throwing window lane will be. His release is efficient and wastes no time transitioning from the mesh to his release to hit receivers in stride. This same quick processing can be seen in the run game, reading defenders off of zone and power read. Not only do his legs pose an additional threat to defenses in the run game, but they also help him to climb the pocket and extend plays in pass progressions.
