5A is the most loaded QB class in my opinion, as this was by far the most difficult top five list to determine. When it's all said and done, I imagine we see a handful 5A QB's that pick up a D1 offer. Take a look:

Haugo is a highly touted prospect that possesses all the tools and ability to bust loose this fall. He had a unique Jr. season, as he had to sit 5 games due to the transfer rule when he came over from North HS, and then an injury put a stop on his shot to really show us what he can do at Higley. Despite that, it looks like he'll get a big opportunity on a defending championship squad loaded with weapons to make some noise in 2024. He's a 6'5" 200lb gunslinger that holds 9 offers thus far, and I think whoever lands him could be getting a steal. Rally looking forward to seeing what Haugo can do with a full, healthy season this fall.

Dixon is a dynamic player with a ton of upside as he is one of the truest dual-threat QB's I've seen lately. There's a ton to like from his film, as he's easily one of, if not the most electric player in the state. His 2nd play on his tape showcases excellent arm strength, flashing the ability to hit 50+ yards on the money downfield with ease. Excellent burst, twitch, and lateral vision with great top end speed for big play ability when he takes off. Don't mistake his ability on the ground as a one-trick pony, as Dixon has proved to dice up defenses with his arm and displays solid pocket mechanics for a young prospect. At mark 2:41 on his film he shows excellent anticipation and toughness, sticking in the pocket while knowing he's about to take a shot, and still delivers a dot vertically down field. College programs should be throwing offers at this kid ASAP.

[player_tooltip player_id='954315' first='Ronald' last='Coty'], Kellis '25

Coty's best work was done on the ground last fall, rushing for almost 1,200 yards and 20 TD's. I really like his vision and burst, as he hits north-south in a slit second, can make an opponent miss, and bounce towards the numbers to utilize his speed and give himself room to work. Definite big play threat on the ground that can and should open up the pass game a lot more for him this fall. He does a good job of getting the ball out quick and knowing where he's going when throwing off play action, and I think we see him showcase his arm talent a lot more this year as well. Tons of potential and room to quickly rise his stock if he can have a big first 3-4 games, as I'm expecting him to breakout this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='954411' first='Jase' last='Ashley'], Horizon '25

Ashley is one of the most slept on QB's in the state, as his film speaks for itself. A 6'1" 180lb dual-threat QB that put up 1,019 yards and 10 TD's through the air while adding 634 yards and 11 TD's on the ground as his first year as a starter. Ashley does a great job selling and throwing off play action, frequently delivering accurate off-platform throws. He really seemed to grow in terms of maturity as the season went on, simplifying his reads and throwing with more anticipation toward the later end of the year. Really good top end speed as he shows the ability to become dangerous on the ground as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='369013' first='Jaxon' last='Knutson'], McClintock '25

Knutson sizes up with a great frame and build at 6'3" 210lbs. He stands tall in the pocket and does a good job scanning the field going through progression. Very good placement and timing on all 3 levels of throws, as he excels at throwing vertical and does so with touch and finesse. Good overall arm strength both in terms in velocity and driving the ball downfield on a 3-ball, frequently connecting for big plays. He's your ideal pocket passer that can sit back and throw 30+ times per game and have few turnovers due to that accuracy as well as his ability to read and recognize coverages quickly.
