So, to prepare for the season, we will be doing Team Previews up until the first kickoff. In these previews, we will cover several topics, including a recap of the team's 2023 season, a look at the next season, team schedules, preseason awards, and players to watch. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here is the 2024 Fillmore Central Panthers Team Preview:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline">2023 Recap &amp; 2024 Outlook:</span></em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fillmore Central is coming off a tremendous 11-1 season last year, in which their only loss came in the playoff semifinal to the eventual Class C2 champions. The Panthers were a well-balanced team that featured a physical offense (avg. 31.1 points/game) and a stifling defense (avg. 11.9 points allowed/game). The Panthers lost quarterback Trevin Stassines, RB/LB Luke Kimbrough, ATH Kade Cooper, and several other key contributors to graduation but retained a great amount of talent. Fillmore Central returns their leading rusher in junior [player_tooltip player_id='1395761' first='Trevor' last='Roach'] and leading receiver in senior [player_tooltip player_id='876834' first='Jarin' last='Tweedy']. The Panthers will also have a favorable schedule as they only play two playoff teams from last season (Wilber-Clatonia &amp; Hastings St. Cecilia) and went 5-0 against teams they played last season, including those two playoff teams. Expect Fillmore Central to be firmly in the playoff picture and in the hunt to make a trip to Memorial Stadium in November.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline">Players to Watch:</span></em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='876834' first='Jarin' last='Tweedy']</em></strong> (2025 - WR/DB - 6'0" 180 lbs - <a href="https://x.com/JarinTweedy" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Twitter</a>) hauled in 23 receptions for 325 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns while also serving as a key part of the Fillmore Central secondary, tallying 25 tackles, a TFL, a sack, and 2 interceptions. Jarin is a solid route runner who does a great job finding the soft spots in the defense and has shown the ability to beat man coverage.
