Rankings updates means a lot of changes, new names, and a lot of tape to watch. With this being the first update to the Class of 2027 we were expecting a pretty big update and the athletes didn't disappoint. We almost doubled the original 57 ranked players and have several more in the Watch List. It was great to see this Class out at camps early and often this summer, making a name for themselves including putting themselves on our radar here. However, there were also several athletes who have been on our radar since the initial debut. They have since gone on and impressed us even more this summer, earning a rise up the rankings. Today we are going to talk about who made the biggest jumps up the board and what they are showing early in their careers.

Richie is well on his way towards developing into a special talent on the OL. He played at 6'3" 240 lbs as a freshman this past fall. Richie is now checking in at 6'4" 260 lbs with solid length and a frame with all the room to continue to fill out with strength and overall mass. The rising sophomore is developing a great platform of athleticism and power for the guard position. He has easy range and agility to get out in space, up to level two, or pull across the formation and kick out DTs or DEs. When he gets to his target we see an athlete with a powerful initial pop and leg drive to create a push off that initial pop in the run game. Richie was a varsity player as a freshman, so I can't wait to see what that experience, his growth, and the offseason development has him set to do on the field as a sophomore.

One of the biggest risers during this update is [player_tooltip player_id='1083269' first='Isaac' last='Miller'] who will be playing at Catholic Memorial this fall. The incoming sophomore possesses an exceptional frame for the DE position at 6'5" and just starting to fill it out at 225 lbs. Isaac shows a massive first step that covers a lot of ground off the line and demonstrated the ability to dip and bend in his freshman season. We also see several high effort plays in the available freshman tape. He enters Catholic Memorial with an overflow of raw talent. Look for a breakout year from his this fall as he hones his rare size/length/movement skills into an impressive football recruit.

Jamison has really impressed me since going back and rewatching his highlights from his freshman season at QB. Right off the bat, the '27 has the frame of a prototypical passer already. He tips the scale at 200 lbs and easily carries it on his 6'3" frame. The first takeaway early in his highlights is that Jamison has a live arm. An arm that can attack every level of the field. He can carve up the short- intermediate levels with next level velocity, putting the ball on a rope when needed. When attacking deep, Larsen is still able to hold onto that velocity as he pushes the ball downfield. The '27 has effective athleticism as well. He can buy time and is able to maintain accuracy throwing on the run. Larsen is showing strong attributes. I'm looking forward to seeing what he looks like as a sophomore.

The biggest riser during this rankings update is the Racine Case OL. It is well deserved too because Nathan has been putting in the work on a daily basis. Whether in the weight room or training with OL Mafia or getting out and working on this with his teammates. What led to the big jump in ranking was the massive improvement in Nathan's mobility, flexibility, and body control. It looks so much more natural for him to drop his pad level to get leverage. With that improved balance and ability to play low and with leverage we are going to see Nathan consistently moving defensive linemen around the trenches this fall.

Gage is the first athlete to make the jump from the Watch List up to the rankings. He debuts at #32 at the OL10. Gage played left tackle this past fall, and it will be interesting to see how he continues to grow and develop. Currently, the 2027 is showing traits that translate to the next level as a promising guard. An effective quick set in pass protection paired with a stout anchor to shut down bull rushes. He uses heavy hands to control his opponents movement and consistently makes first contact using his length to his advantage. Gage has a solid base of talent to build upon. Keep a close eye on Gage this fall.
