2027 Virginia Rankings Review Defensive Line

<p>The top ranked defensive linemen for the Virginia class of 2027 are filled with potential and talent. All eight of the players below are ranked in our top 50 overall, this group has a strong case for being the strongest and deepest in its entire class. </p>    <p class="text-gray-700">The next big thing and our top ranked defensive lineman Christ Whitehead does not need an introduction. He has been causing havoc for LC Bird opponents off the edge, the dude is a force. </p>   <p>He has a long reach and comes off the ball quickly, reminds of a young Hassan Reddick the way he gets his hands on opposing blockers. Ranked 4th in our class overall Whitehead has 10 FBS offers and boasts a 3.8 GPA. For the next couple of seasons he will be one of the most sought out recruits in the country.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/chriswhiteheadz/status/1792551182226907388 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1170677' first='Camden' last='Chalkley'] stands out on almost every snap, I broke down his play last month but it has to be mentioned he is a prime stock riser candidate when our next rankings come out.</p>   <p>Scary to think about it because he is already ranked 7th overall. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/camden_chalkley/status/1790850401287192922 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Green Run's [player_tooltip player_id='1311518' first='Kason' last='Dockins'] is prime for a big sophomore campaign, I wrote this about him earlier in the week:</p>   <p><em>Love to watch this young man rush the passer off the edge, Green Run's <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1311518' first='Kason' last='Dockins']</strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/kason-dockins/"></a> is ridiculously fast defensive end. He has good pass rushing techniques you rarely see him give up his body on a swim move and he notched 15 sacks as a freshman! Dockins is well on his way to being one of the premier pass rushers in the state, still growing into his body at 6'2 and 175 lbs. Stallions fans will want to remember this name.</em></p>   <p><a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19584046/659210c8478d8601f8376813">https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19584046/659210c8478d8601f8376813</a></p>     <p class="text-gray-700">A correction on my part, for Trinity Episcopal's [player_tooltip player_id='400876' first='Michael' last='Gibbs'], I incorrectly stated he played for Midlothian last season which was not true. Upon further research he was terrorizing opponents for the Titans as a freshman and will look to do more in 2024. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">30th ranked overall Huguenot's [player_tooltip player_id='1311626' first='Cassius' last='Woolridge'] is one to watch this season. Woolridge comes off the ball well at defensive tackle and his closing speed is not to be ignored when he is chasing down quarterbacks. The young man closes with a sense of force and urgency, expect colleges to start sniffing around his film very soon. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Now 6'4 with a 4.0 GPA [player_tooltip player_id='1170594' first='Reece' last='Honaker'] can be downright dominate for the Radford Bobcats these next few years. He comes off the line with good awareness and leverage, once he starts using his long reach the young man could have double digit sacks. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/ReeceHonaker/status/1806140543287636331 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1311631' first='Sean' last='Boyd'] is going to force double teams each week for Cosby, at 5;10 and 250 lbs. he plays the game with a high football IQ. </p>   <p>He has been playing this game for a long time and is a team first guy which is a winning combo. New Kent's [player_tooltip player_id='1311632' first='Jaron' last='Collins'] not only stepped up, he was a monster and second on his team in tackles. </p>   <p>Very smart football player who is still growing into his 6'3 200 lb. frame, you can see the FBS level potential on tape.
