Michael is one of my favorite players to watch, and he has made a jump in our rankings. Anyone looking for a Defensive Tackle/Nose Guard. Elite run defense and very good pass rush, Michael is one of the top players in the state. I have already featured a full-season report on his 2024 season that you can read below:
Good height and elite size. Very good athleticism for his size displaying elite balance, very good acceleration, lateral movement, bend, foot quickness, hand quickness, good hip fluidity, change of direction, and solid foot speed. Very good up-field burst utilizing his very good foot quickness and bend to gain depth with good pad level. Very good use of hands to engage offensive linemen with his elite play strength with the ability to enforce his will against anyone. Elite run defense, forcing a double team against him that he can split with his strength and use of hands, with very good lateral movement when disengaging blocks to defend his run gap. Very good power pass rush, with very good leg drive to push the depth of the pocket and put offensive linemen off balance, disallowing QBs to step up in the pocket. He is a great competitor who pursues though the whistle. Michael is an FBS prospect who has picked up a Marshall offer already and will see many more. In my mind, he can play in the Power 4.

A correction on my part, for Trinity Episcopal’s

, I incorrectly stated he played for Midlothian last season which was not true. Upon further research he was terrorizing opponents for the Titans as a freshman and will look to do more in 2024.

who checks in at 24th overall. Playing for Midlothian as a freshmen, Gibbs is going to be a matchup problem this next couple of seasons. He has a long reach and is 6’3 with really good speed off the edge. With a year of varsity football under his belt, I would expect his stock to climb.

Michael is a player to know. He has already picked up a Division 1 offer from Marshall and more should come in time. Good height, size, and length and should continue to grow. His explosion off the line sticks out and he has foot and hand technique that allows him to excel in his game. He can be utilized across the defensive line. Our Prep Redzone Next scouts have taken notice of Michael for good reason. Expect to see him making plays every week for the next few seasons.

Gibbs was the most physically imposing Defensive Linemen at camp and has incredible length and size at every bit of 6-foot-4 and 241-pounds. The 2027 Virginia prospect was very fundamentally sound as a Defensive Linemen. No false steps, very efficient with his upper body movements. A little slow in INDY’s but he was precise in his drills and reps. In 1v1s Gibbs won often just because his matchups lacked the size and strength to compete. However, Gibbs was winning because of his footwork and strength, not just his overwhelming size. His footwork was arguably the biggest take away from his performance, as that time in the gym as a promising basketball player, clearly carries over onto the gridiron.

Big men that are athletic can be difficult to come bye on the middle school level. However, for Gibbs, that is certainly not a problem. At 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds he carries his weight very well, looking like a Power Forward in Basketball, instead of a Defensive Lineman. He gets off the ball very quickly and has a fantastic frame that will allow him to add a lot of size. His versatility allows him to play interior or on the edge across the defensive front. Ideally I see him as a 3-4 Defensive End, but time will tell in Virginia.
