NORTH DAKOTA-- With the North Dakota 2027 rankings now posted, we turn our focus to the content breaking down the why, the who, etc. with our 2027 rankings. I start tonight with our running back group who already, I can tell is going to be a solid class and I have to say I love what I see with this position group from the city of Bismarck thus far. I told our PRZ staff that I would come back from NDSU with a ton of live evaluations from this 2027 class and even in this running back group alone, that prelimenary thought lived up to the hype!

Carter was a name that I recall catching my eyes at the NDSU camp a couple weeks back. Although he has some frame to grow out in the coming years, I like this kid's upside he showed me in Fargo. Certainly caught my attention with his change of direction and the testing numbers I have from camp showed that off exactly from my notebook. This Patriots backfield is certainly going to be one to follow in this 2027 class, as Carter checks in as RB4 in our first 2027 rankings update.

Another Bismarck Century running back that rose his stock a ton from our Winter Combine in Jamestown to our Spring Combine in Sioux Falls, was [player_tooltip player_id='1113086' first='Wyatt' last='Nelson']. Wyatt was nominated by the college coaches and myself this Spring as one of our RB top performers and was on our First Team All-Camp which is not all that common coming from a freshmen in the Dakotas. Fast is an understatement to describe Wyatt, as he tested as one of the best in the RB group (4.72) at our Spring Combine in the 40 yard dash. This young man plays with bigger size than those measurables with show you as he impressed me with his routes in Sioux Falls with his durability too. With hopefully a growth spurt coming, I could see Wyatt pushing upwards in our RB rankings but as of right now, lands just inside our top 20 overall and at RB3 in the 2027 ND class. Twitter

Has Bismarck stole the show yet amongst the 2027 class of running backs? Add Bismarck St. Mary's [player_tooltip player_id='1314732' first='Beckett' last='Price'] to that mix of top 2027 running backs from the capital city. Beckett was another new name added to my notebook from his camp showing at NDSU a couple weeks back. Recorded a 4.64 in the 40-yard dash and showed off plenty of explosiveness incoming with a 9'5 in the broad jump. All of that is very impressive for this incoming sophomore playing already at 5'10 175 pounds as a prospect that showed off the instinctive movement too up in Fargo. Beckett comes in as RB2 and is one that I am intrigued with the ceiling he has brewing in the coming years. Twitter

One of the top 2027 running backs I had quckly added to my notebook at NDSU, was 5'10 200 pounder [player_tooltip player_id='1292624' first='Corban' last='Youngmark']. Coming out of hotbed Fargo Shanley, Corban ran a 11.5 100-meter dash this Spring and doubled down with verifying that speed a couple weeks back with absoulute great size already as just a sophomore to be. Corban checked the boxes too with a 4.5 pro agility and 9'2 broad jump as I loved seeing the consistency too across his testing numbers which always evaluate a prospect better as an underclassmen. North Dakota's RB1 is one that I can't wait to watch strongly develop for the Deacons as their staff always does a great job of development especially with their skill positions over the years. Twitter
