In the month of June, we're updating all of our prospect rankings on Prep Redzone Oklahoma. We've seen a ton of football this offseason from the 7v7 circuit to camps to most recently with team camps. We kicked off our month of ranking updates last week with a look at the 2027 class as they head into their sophomore seasons this fall. Last week, it was time to look at the 2026 class. On Monday, our 2025 rankings were updated to include the Top 200 players in the upcoming senior class. You can check out the updated rankings right here. In this post, we're putting the spotlight on the wide receiver position and this might be the most talented group of receivers that Oklahoma has produced in a few years. There are two receivers in the top five and seven in the top 25. This is a breakdown on five of the receivers that have the ability to change a game in the blink of an eye. Check out Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more ranking updates, along with all of our 2025 prospect breakdowns later this week!

There are a few prospects on this breakdown that we've known about since they were freshmen and Carl Albert's [player_tooltip player_id='294261' first='Trey' last='Washington'] is one of them. Washington had his breakout moment during his freshman season when he emerged as Carl Albert's leading receiver in the 2022 season. Now, Washington is a true threat in all three phases of the game. He's a standout receiver, defensive back and even a punter in special teams. Washington has also grown significantly over the last 18 months and has added quite a bit of muscle to go with his long frame. That makes him a very intriguing prospect to watch when he heads off to Oklahoma next year.

Just like Washington, Moore's [player_tooltip player_id='211560' first='CJ' last='Simon'] had his breakout moment during his freshman year in 2022. He emerged as one of Moore's best players and it was clear that the Lions were going to do whatever they had to do to get him on the field. Simply put, Simon is one of the best wide receivers in the state and that's not up for debate after the production he has had over the last three seasons. And every time we see Simon in person, he's routinely one of the best athletes on the football field. Whether it's with the pads on or on the 7v7 circuit or at a national camp, Simon has always impressed us. He's one of the top available 2025 prospects right now.

Way down in southeastern Oklahoma, Idabel's [player_tooltip player_id='479389' first='Matrail' last='Lopez'] has been listed as an athlete in the last several ranking updates. But this offseason, Lopez committed to Oklahoma State shortly after receiving an offer from the Cowboys to play wide receiver at the next level. Don't get us wrong, Lopez is still one of the better two-way players in Oklahoma and could play on either side. But he wants to play offense and certainly will be a playmaker at that wide receiver position. Lopez is a playmaker and we've seen him in person a handful of times during the last two offseasons while he played on the 7v7 circuit. He's a special talent that is primed for a big 2024 season.

Star Spencer wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='840303' first='Lehmantre' last='Olds'] continues to be a receiver that's flying under the radar but that shouldn't be the case. We've seen the standout in person a handful of times and there isn't much that you can pick at his game that suggests he can't play at the next level. He has size, strong hands and legit playmaking ability. We saw him in person about ten months after first watching him in the spring of 2023 and it looked like he had gotten bigger. He might be closer to a Washington at Carl Albert where he's a hybrid receiver or tight end prospect depending on the next level. But he's still a player that can certainly play at the next level.

A lot of what we wrote about Olds can be repeated here with Edmond Memorial standout [player_tooltip player_id='353412' first='Billy' last='McDown'] because he has all the potential in the world. He finally had his breakout moment last season with the Edmond Memorial passing offense and as we go into this season, don't be surprised if McDown ends up being the leading receiver at the 6A-1 level. He put up strong numbers last fall and we could see that production receive a significant spike. We first learned of McDown when he was a freshman and the ceiling was incredibly high. Now, McDown is reaching that potential and college coaches should give him a look as he tears up 6A-1 this fall.
