There were a lot of names I was very familiar with ahead of the first practices of South Carolina and Georgia. However, that doesn't mean I can't get surprised by what happened when all these talented athletes get on the same field. Every player down here has a substantial amount of ability, but these six below saw their stock rise with great showings at the first Future Stars practice of the week.

In my eyes, no player on the Georgia Future Stars 8th Grade team raised their stock more today than Rosser. The first practice of the day was in helmets only and the second one was padded--but it didn't matter. Rosser was excellent as a Defensive Tackle and won a ton of reps with a very quick inside move. It was iron sharpening iron, as he was lined up across from Offensive Guards [player_tooltip player_id='653251' first='Jeremiah' last='Magee'] and [player_tooltip player_id='950884' first='Paul' last='Mitchell']--both of whom are highly talented players in their own right--but Rosser was excellent.

Looking in my 2028 South Carolina database, McGowan was a kid I entered a note about how he was on the come up. After today's practice, McGowan is no longer on the come up--he's up there. He was dominant throughout the first practice, and I only saw him lose one rep all practice. He's a strong kid that moved quite well for his size. He lists himself at 6-foot-3 and 285-pounds and that's probably not too far off. His thicker bottom build lends itself more to an Offensive Guard, than the Offensive Tackle he was taking reps at, but he's got a bright future.

Anderson did a nice job as a Wide Receiver throughout the morning practice. Most of the early part of the first practice was on air and his length originally caught my eye. Then watching him in 7v7 against a talented defense, he still found ways to get open and make plays.

Has been in my South Carolina database for the better part of a year or longer, but I really liked him at practice today. Over the last six months has tacked on two inches and is now in that 6-foot-2 range with some good, muscular meat on his bones. I have him listed as an Athlete and I think that's the best place for him to stay because he has Wide Receiver skills, but could see him playing some Tight End if he continues to get bigger. Defensively, he's got a broad, long, frame that could translate to Defensive End, Outside Linebacker or Safety.

Took the field ready to compete and didn't stop all day long. He has average height, but a very powerful build. He's on the roster as an Athlete and it's clear to see why. He was able to play both inside and outside receiver, making a number of really impressive grabs in the process. With his build he could be a really dangerous weapon in the slot for Georgia.

While I firmly agree with the saying “the eye in the sky don't lie”, there are always some benefits by getting to watch a prospect live. Denmark has been on my radar since October based off what I saw on film, however, after seeing him play live--I like him even more. Has a phenomenal build and runs very well. He's a Running Back/Linebacker type, but he looked like a natural running routes and catching the ball on air. In fact, he lists himself at 5-foot-10 and 160-pounds and with his paws, it wouldn't surprise me if he flirted with playing Wide Receiver.
