Shorter Prospect Camp: Metric Standouts on the Alabama Stop

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Zack Morrison Shorter University Camp had close to 100 players show up at their Camp this week at Hoover High School. Below are 5 players that put up good metrics, size and speed. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='829892' first='Daunte' last='Williams']</strong> - 2025 WR Mortimer Jordan High </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 5'9 169 WR was the only player at the camp to put together back to back Sub 4.40 40's. The multisport athlete is still a raw football player but has that speed you can't teach and the natural athleticism to compliment it. The solid frame WR only had 12 catches last season for Mortimer Jordan but averaged close to 28 ypc. With that speed he is definitely someone that can get behind the defense in hurry. He has 4.5 speed, 320 PC, a 4.1 GPA, a solid built guy at 5'7 170 that gets it done on and off the field. Has that "twitch" to make defenders miss, vision in traffic to find running lanes and the speed to breakaway from the defense. Plus he has the size, strength and toughness to run over you. Has the strength and power to run through you and the speed and agility to run around you. Had success on the field last season rushing for over 1900 yards and averaging 8.8 ypc with 31 TDs and being named to the All Conference and All Region teams. Was the fastest 200+ pound guy at the event running close to a 4.60. Great frame and very athletic with a high football IQ. Has the athleticism to pursue side to side and is a solid tackler. Has the ability to drop back in coverage. 2-way player that accounted for over 2000+ total yards from the QB spot last season for Thorsby. The two way player for the Wildcats last season, playing RB and safety, produced on Friday nights. He had a 3 INT game vs Bessemer City. Earlier this spring put up a 39.8 vertical jump and a 9'8 broad jump at the Rivals camp. Multisport guy at Tuscaloosa who excels on the diamond, as well as in the classroom.
