After reviewing hundreds of player profiles, we came up with a list of the Top 25 sophomores as he head into the busy part of the summer.   Check out the players who came in ranked 20-16.   Click <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2024/06/how-we-got-here-przne-2027-initial-rankings-release/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">HERE</a> to find out HOW the rankings came to be and <a href="https://prepredzone.com/nebraska/rankings/2027-watch-list/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">HERE</a> for the entire 290-prospect list for the 2027 class.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/19575192/Ayron-Shaw" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hudl</a>   Considering the great defensive linemen who have came out of Creighton Prep recently, it is a safe assumption that [player_tooltip player_id='1085149' first='Ayron' last='Shaw'] could be the next one in line. Ayron was moved up to the JV squad and earned a role on the varsity team by season's end. When you see Shaw, you see a tall, lean, and lengthy defensive end who could also play as a stand-up EDGE rusher at the next level. He shows good speed off the ball, while quickly shooting his hands and extending his reach to separate from blockers. Ayron pursues the ball very well with solid lateral quickness to chase down scrambling QBs and backs. With Ayron's measurables, potential, and three more seasons with Prep coaches, it won't be long before he's hearing from college programs.      <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/19241107/Caden-Boyer" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hudl</a>   [player_tooltip player_id='1075677' first='Caden' last='Boyer'] had a great freshman season as the anchor of the Gretna East OL and is one of two Griffin blockers in the top 20. When watching Caden's freshman tape, I really liked seeing the physicality he plays with and the aggressive mindset he brings to the field. Even against bigger nose tackles, Caden can win at the line of scrimmage with his great use of leverage and effective hand placement. He is a very strong player, especially in his base, where he is able to drive defenders off their spot and can generate a lot of explosiveness from his hips. Boyer is mobile and athletic enough to get up to the second level to kick out linebackers. Plays through the whistle. The trench Griffs will be a unit to watch out for next season.      <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/19468645/Kobe-Allen" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hudl</a>   Lincoln North Star's [player_tooltip player_id='722336' first='Kobe' last='Allen'] is a dynamic player to watch after being moved up to varsity as a freshman. I really considered listing Kobe as a DB here, but his upside on offense and special teams makes the ATH listing more appropriate. Allen played the majority of his varsity reps at safety, where he displayed good range and coverage instincts. Kobe seems to be quick on his feet with loose hips that allow him to change direction and break on the ball on a dime. One thing that stood out about Kobe was his willingness to help in run support. He quickly triggers downhill once he keys on the run, takes good angles on his way to the ball, and shows some solid power behind his tackles. You also have to keep a close eye on Kobe when you're on special teams and his explosiveness as a returner. Look for Kobe to build on a very promising frosh season as the Gators push for another playoff berth.      <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/19262093/Adrick-Teichmeier" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hudl</a>   Adrick is a player who I believe could make a splash this season in the Bearcats' backfield. The incoming sophomore is an absolute handful to try and tackle with his big 6'2" and 205-pound frame. Teichmeier is at his best when he can run the ball between the tackles and pound away at defenses. Even as a taller back, Adrick showed that he runs with good pad level and can drop the shoulder to lay out defenders when needed. I also really like Adrick's burst as he clears the second level of the defense and finds the open field, showing off some nice acceleration past defenders. Teichmeier's vision also allows him to quickly find open lanes. At our PRZ showcases, Adrick looked great as a pass catcher coming out of the backfield. There is lots of upside on the defensive side of the ball as well. Don't be surprised when Adrick turns into a high-level recruit.      <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/19241849/Simon-Schram" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hudl</a>   We got another Griff protector to round out the top 20. With Simon at left tackle, Gretna East rushed their way to 1,200+ yards and 19 touchdowns in their inaugural season. Simon impressed with how he was able to clear the edge to open up outside run lanes for his backs. He is quick and mobile enough to take out second-level defenders and flashes good lateral mobility. He immediately starts to work his hands inside and has the power to dominate defenders at the line of scrimmage. This must be emphasized at GE because, like Caden, Simon plays with a physical mentality and is always looking to finish his blocks through the whistle.
