Defensively the Oregon 2027 class has a chance to be special. Jack Brauckmiller could be one of the most recruited athletes to come out of the state in some time. He has that type of potential. 6-5 DE [player_tooltip player_id='937033' first='Cody' last='Mitchell'] earned all-conference honors as a freshman, just like Brauckmller, but is still relatively unknown.

[player_tooltip player_id='1119870' first='Jamison' last='Walsh'] has D1 genes and might end up being 6-6 with [player_tooltip player_id='936855' first='Nate' last='Peau'] getting some varsity time for last year's state champs. 6-5 DE [player_tooltip player_id='1246545' first='Josh' last='Christensen'] was impressive at the PRZ Showcase, putting together an MVP type event.

A lot of credit to Washington St who has done a good job of offering the NW's top young guys. They were the first to offer standout OLB [player_tooltip player_id='791149' first='Kawai' last='Chamberlin'] of Sheldon who had 14 tackles as a freshman. [player_tooltip player_id='936846' first='Leonardo' last='Correani'] was an all PIL kid as a 9th grader and could be one of the top players in the league this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='709506' first='Deckard' last='Hale'] had the best varsity film of any 2027 athlete in my opinion. He could be a conference POY candidate next season. 5A standout [player_tooltip player_id='1119889' first='Pena' last='Moors'] totaled 27 tackles and 3 sacks as a freshman with [player_tooltip player_id='796788' first='Mai'King' last='West'] being a physical presence.

The DB's are definitely a strength of the class with one of nation's best [player_tooltip player_id='632957' first='Josiah' last='Molden'] already holding 11 D1 offers. His teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1121744' first='Pat' last='Vialva Jr.'] is very similar to [player_tooltip player_id='1242808' first='Braylon' last='Gaines'], being a standout on the basketball floor but potentially projecting in football.

[player_tooltip player_id='855093' first='Summit' last='Cvitash'] will have a chance to play as a sophomore for a top 5 Lakers team, with [player_tooltip player_id='1121756' first='Ashden' last='Marquis'] likely playing a key role for 5A state champion Wilsonville this year. Last but not least [player_tooltip player_id='937174' first='Houston' last='Lillard'] of Tigard. He's undersized but fearless and will be one of the best DB's in the TRL in the coming seasons.
