RIVER FALLS-- We keep the pedal of the floor from the Minnesconsin MEGA Camp to take a look at Part II of my standouts list in River Falls last week. If you are a college program, that LOVES that upside prospect this is a great list for you to look at and add prospects to your recruiting board.

Peter was one that we have had on our radar in Minnesota, but one that I thought has grown with his athleticism from what I saw in River Falls. Especially in testing, I was impressed with how well Peter looked in the pro-agility drills as the fluidity the big man has showed off a quicker turn radius than I expected. A swiss-army knife on both sides of the trenches, Peter showed off aggression with his hands and won some reps too with his hand-placement as a prospect that I certainly like his coachability for the next-level and the position flexibility should draw more attention to this young man.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263191' first='Gavin' last='Butak'], LB/TE, Champlin Park, MN 2025 Twitter

If there was a Minnesota school that hit my notepad hard in River Falls it was Champlin Park including 2025 linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1263191' first='Gavin' last='Butak']. At 6'4 215 pounds, Gavin was one of the more explosive linebackers I saw in the broad jump and getting to watch his pressing vision later at camp caught my attention as he moves extremely well for his size. He also posseses good COD and is one I expect to make a good splash at middle linebacker for the Rebels and for the college coaches out there, I like the upside you can grow with this young man over the next couple of years.

Payton Merrida, RB, Unity, WI 2025 Twitter

Payton was a NW Wisconsin prospect brand new to my radar and was one that caught my attention in River Falls. After seeing his 100-meter track time of 11.1, it makes plenty of sense why I saw the skillsets I saw at the Minnesconsin MEGA Camp. Payton showed off balanced vision in the reps I watched and his churning footwork points out that quick trigger he has when he releases his speed out of his stance. His tape shows off a jack of all trades on tape, and his open field awareness sticks out as well as the instinctive twitch he has over the middle of the field with his route-running as I could certainly see him as a slot receiver at the next level. I like Payton's Saturday potential for sure.

[player_tooltip player_id='945337' first='Bradyn' last='Kost'], LB, Sauk Rapids-Rice, MN 2025 Twitter

Bradyn was one in the limited reps I got to watch, impressed me with how he finished every single rep I saw. This young man did not let up with his speed to end each rep as he showed off long ranging stamina which is exactly what you want at the linebacker position. The 6'0 205 pounder from SRR, showed off that rumble of physicality getting downhill in River Falls and although the camp wasn't padded, Bradyn shows off that finish on any rep when he unlocks his hands off the defender and is one that has good vision and still has some upside to grow further with it as a LB prospect from the 320 that has a next-level future.

Boston Katzer, QB, Lennox, SD 2025 Twitter

Boston was a quarterback prospect that has gotten some coverage this Spring and now summer, but seeing him testing at the Minnesconsin MEGA Camp I thought rose his stock as one of the only quarterbacks that drew my eyes during it. The length Boston has was shown and he utilized it with the fluidity at his disposal as the athletic movement showed off more instincts than I had seen from him in the past. In fact, the bulk of what this young man does with the football has the word fluidity written on it, as that would be how I describe his quick release as well on all three levels when watching him this Spring. He is one that I am very surprised does not have an offer yet out of Lennox, South Dakota as he also has the ideal size college coaches are looking for at QB.

Anthony Turner, DL, Spring Lake Park, MN 2025

A defensive line prospect that might be one that you need a senior season eval on to see how it pans out is Anthony Turner of Spring Lake Park. The 5'10 230 pounder, was not the biggest kid in the defensive trenches but his quick first step and good balance with his footwork caught my eyes. I couldn't find tape yet on Anthony, but he could be a good small-school fit if he wants a next-level opportunity.

Riley Davis, WR, Somerset, WI 2026

Riley is another prospect that needs more coming from his next season for a better eval from college programs, but showed off upside that was promising headed into the fall at the Minnesconsin MEGA Camp. As a route-runner, I like the twitch that Riley showed off in River Falls as a 6'0 160 pound wide receiver in the 2026 class. There is upside across the board for this young man, and I hope to see how he pans out as an under the radar 2026 out of Western Wisconsin.

[player_tooltip player_id='1209384' first='Ian' last='Burkman'], RB, Grantsburg, WI 2026 Twitter

Ian was one of my favorite NW Wisconsin prospects that I got to scout live last football season and is another one that brought the attention to multiple PRZ scouts in River Falls including myself. Before I dive deeper into his eval, his testing numbers were excellent for his size across the board (see post below). The word I had to describe Ian on my note was "workhorse" which if I recall correctly, is what he appeared to be in the game Grantsburg had against Hurley. He also was electric with his vision from the reps I caught and is one that I wish I would have watched more in River Falls. One of the most intriguing prospects NW Wisconsin has to offer in the Wisconsin 2026 class.
