There are a lot of 2026 Wide Receivers in the Charlotte Metro Area that have the potential to break out and have some big seasons for their teams. Here are some players I think you should have on your radar:

[player_tooltip player_id='402300' first='Prince' last='Young'] - Independence - At 6'1 and 185 pounds, I like how Prince can get off of press coverage at the line of scrimmage with a variety of releases - it appears he has been coached well. Using that agility allows Prince to win against man coverage and provide a good target for his quarterback. There is an opportunity for Prince to step up for the Patriots as they lost some reliable receivers to graduation last season. Prince stands to gain some attention, as he is already out on the camp circuit and making an impression on coaches. As long as Prince continues to focus and stay motivated, he can move onto a number of recruiting boards with his size and dedication to his craft. A 3.0 GPA will also allow Prince to any opportunity that might present itself.

Donte Nicholson - West Charlotte - Donte was a player who popped on the radar when I noticed him making some plays in big spots for the Lions last season. With a young quarterback set to take the reigns this upcoming season, Donte is one of the multiple reliable targets the Lions will have to make plays down the field in the passing game. At 5'10 and 170 pounds, Donte currently has an offer from Marshall and is out on the camp circuit looking to jump onto some more college recruiting boards and earn offers. Donte has some excellent speed while running routes and in the open field - the Lions even used him some in the run game to get on the edge quickly on jet sweeps and things of that nature. I am excited to see how Donte progresses early this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='338729' first='Khalil' last='Price'] - North Mecklenburg - I talked to Khalil recently, and he has all the elements you look for in a possible breakout player. Excellent speed as he is a bonafide track star, and great size as he is 6'3 with a long frame that colleges would be excited to add weight to in their weight programs. Another important factor is the fact he has a big-time threat opposite him in [player_tooltip player_id='516340' first='Sadat' last='Grant'], and a threat in the slot in [player_tooltip player_id='612108' first='Landon' last='Gilmore']. Khalil should see a good bit of single coverage, and if the Vikings can get him the ball, Khalil could be the benefactor of some big plays on the outside this upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1321100' first='Rakim' last='Finch'] - West Charlotte - I witnessed Rakim make some big plays last season in some big games for the Lions as a major down-the-field threat. Lions freshman [player_tooltip player_id='378926' first='Davion' last='Jones'] attracted a good bit of attention, so Rakim was able to take advantage of some single coverage opportunities and made the most of them. At 5'11 and 185 pounds, Rakim had a productive season on the 7-on-7 circuit and looks to have grown his body in the weight room as well. Rakim has excellent speed to gain leverage against corners and safeties in single coverage. Rakim also catches the ball well, away from his body, displaying strong hands. He will have his opportunities this season on a talented Lions offense.

Ka'mari Coppedge - Chambers - I have said this before about the Chambers program - there is a ton of talent within the program, and Ka'mari keeps that tradition going. Ka'mari showed some flashes when he got some time on varsity about what was coming soon. As he was named team MVP on the JV team, I saw Kamari in person on two occasions, and he is a talented young man. I like him a lot with the ball in his hands - he has electric speed in space, and he can use that speed also as a defensive back on defense. It is always a big target on your chest when you wear the number 1, and Ka'mari doesn't shy away from the challenge. Chambers has had some players leave due to graduation and going to other schools, but it just gives Ka'mari a bigger stage to potentially shine on this upcoming season. With a strong start to the season, Kamari can jump onto some college recruiting boards.
