In the month of June, we’re updating all of our prospect rankings on Prep Redzone Oklahoma. We’ve seen a ton of football this offseason from the 7v7 circuit to camps to most recently with team camps. We kicked off our month of ranking updates last week with a look at the 2027 class as they head into their sophomore seasons this fall. Last week, it was time to look at the 2026 class. On Monday, our 2025 rankings were updated to include the Top 200 players in the upcoming senior class. You can check out the updated rankings right here. In this post, we’re putting the spotlight on the tight end position. This is a group that has continued to grow in depth. It’s headlined by the state’s top overall prospect but there is plenty of depth here with talented tight ends. Check out Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more ranking updates, along with all of our 2025 prospect breakdowns later this week!
Our first tight end to keep an eye on this season is Pauls Valley standout
Jon Grimmett

and he grabbed headlines earlier this offseason when he committed to UNLV. We’re starting all of our preseason content next week and Pauls Valley is going to be one of the higher ranked teams in Class 3A. Having a player like Grimmett coming back is a big reason why. Throw on the film and you see a player and a prospect that is just as comfortable as a traditional tight end as he is splitting out wide at receiver. He has strong hands and makes some really hard catches look easy. Pauls Valley has a chance to have a memorable 2024 season and Grimmett will certainly play a big role.

Booker T Washington is just one of those programs that year after year, produce prospects at a high level. Even the guys you haven’t heard of yet can play and are just waiting for their opportunity.
Jordn Howze

is one of those players. When we watched Booker T Washington in a limited setting at the Claremore team camp, Howze was probably the most impressive guys to watch on the offensive side of the ball. He’s a big, physical tight end that has soft hands and was catching just about everything thrown his way. The Hornets have some weapons in the passing game but having a guy like Howze can really open things up. We think he’s primed for a breakout season this fall.

Kiefer is going to be a team to watch out for this fall in the newly formed Class 2A-1. Tight end
Brayden Holt

Kiefer | 2025

is one of their top returning starters and he’s a prospect that we think is flying under the radar in the state’s 2025 class. We watched Holt perform in person at one of our camps last season and he really impressed us with his size and his ability to make tough catches in traffic. With Kiefer losing a lot of production, specifically on the offensive side of the ball, we think that opens the door for a player like Holt. Don’t be surprised if he ends up having a big season as a tight end that is just as dangerous as a blocker as he is as a receiver making plays in the passing game.

Our final tight end is going to be an ace up the sleeve of Union this season.
Myles Davis

is an underrated tight end prospect but he also has shown this offseason that he could end up at the next level as a punter. Having a versatile player like that will certainly help Union. But when it comes to being that “ace” up the sleeve, we’re talking specifically about what he can do on offense. Davis is a reliable target that just finds a way to get open. We’ve watched him do it countless times over the last 18 months. And as Union looks to replenish the production they lost at the wide receiver position, that creates the possibility of a breakout season for Davis and he has a strong connection with his QB.
