WPIAL Preview: 2027 Quarterbacks To Check Out

<p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='913488' first='Brady' last='Brinkley'] is a good athlete with great size. Brinkley shows good mechanics in the pocket and does a good job setting his feet and throwing the ball. He is good in the run game, especially in designed run plays. He does a nice job of running for extra yards when he runs through contact. He also shows good speed when he runs. As a thrower of the football, he throws with a good touch on the ball. He shows that he has a strong arm. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year:</p>   <p>"Aaron Strader had a good year playing for Pne-Richland this season. He showed good poise in the pocket and constantly did a good job staying in the pocket and throwing the ball. He does a good job of going through his reads to find the open receiver. Strader is really good on designed sprint passing plays where he can sprint out set his feet and throw the ball. He also shows a good ability to make plays when the play breaks down. Strader had a good and productive Freshman Year and I am excited to see how it continues next year". </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='914700' first='Jaivin' last='Peel'] has one of the most impressive arms I have seen from a Freshman quarterback. He shows it off on deep balls where he throws a great ball. Peel is also a gunslinger in the pocket. He does a great job of running around and finding open wide receivers down the field. It is impressive to see his instincts in the pocket. Peel shows good mechanics and footwork in the pocket as well. He does an excellent job in the pocket of getting through his reads and delivering a good football. His processing of information and then throwing a good football is impressive. Jansma also shows good mechanics in the pocket. He does a good job of setting his feet to throw the ball. He is good at reading the defense and then making a good throw. He has excellent footwork in the pocket and when the play breaks down he can move around to make plays in the pocket. He delivers a good football, especially for in-breaking routes. Wagner has a ton of potential and should only improve going into next season. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='953523' first='Grayson' last='Mahla'] has excellent fundamentals as a quarterback. He delivers a good football and does a good job of reading the defense. He shows a good ability to quickly process through the reads and then throws a good football. Mahla also has good mechanics and shows off a good arm. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year:</p>   <p> "He has a good arm and does a good job setting his feet to throw the ball. He does a nice job of finding open receivers downfield. Ambrose also can move around well from his quarterback position. When the play breaks down he keeps his head downfield to look for open receivers. Ambrose should have had a chance to build off last season". </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1180790' first='William' last='Toprani'] is a classic pocket quarterback. He knows exactly where he wants to throw the ball and does a nice job of getting rid of the ball quickly. Toprani also has excellent footwork in the pocket. He does a good job of getting in his drops, setting his feet, and throwing the ball well. Toprani had limited reps last year, but I expect he get more of the opportunities next season. </p>
