With the 2024 for season on the horizon, we spotlight several signal callers who are on the verge of having monster seasons in 2024.
Barker has a big arm with the ability to fit the football into small windows and he has great touch on his deep ball. He has great pocket presence, he navigates the rush well and he stands tall and delivers the football on time in rhythm. He throws well on the run with ability to move outside the pocket and make pinpoint passes down field on a rope. Barker had a phenomenal sophomore season, throwing for over 2,ooo yards and 30 touchdowns. He has offers from UNLV, North Texas and Texas State. He led Ball to the playoffs in 2023. I expect another big time performance from him in 2024.
Highlights
Surratt has a lean, athletic build, he has a strong arm with ability to make all of the throws on the route tree. He can thread the needle into small coverage windows for completions. Surratt throws well on the roll out and he has the arm talent to make off platform throws for completions. Jett makes the three-step and five-step drops look routine. When he is in rhythm and on time, he is extremely accurate. He has excellent touch on his deep and his ability to make the big play keeps pressure on the defense. This enables the Carthage offense to be dynamic. Surratt passed for over 3,800 yards and 46 touchdowns in 2023. Offers have come in from UTSA, Texas Tech and Houston. Surratt is poised for a big time season in 2024.

Smith is a two-year starter and he heads into his junior year as one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2026 class. Grant can make every throw on the route tree and he is extremely accurate in the short to intermediate zones. He stands tall in the pocket, he has good awareness of the rush and his ability to complete passes under duress are traits in his game that flash when you watch his film. Smith makes plays on the roll out, putting the ball on a rope and he has the athleticism to make plays with his feet. Smith is primed to have a stellar year in 2024. Smith returns as one the top signal callers in the state in the 2026 class. Texas A&M, TCU, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Baylor and Houston are several schools who have extended offers.
Highlights
Dailey has a lean, athletic frame at 6 foot 5 and he has a cannon of an arm. He has clean footwork in the pocket with a quick release and he engages his hips to get extra velocity on his throws. Corey makes throws on a rope outside the pocket. He is able to flip hips and get his shoulders pointed to his target delivering pinpoint passes. Dailey plays with a gunslinger mentality and he is not afraid to make passes in close coverage. He has great anticipation and he is extremely accurate in the short to intermediate areas. He has passed 3,688 yards and 43 touchdowns in 21 starts at Seguin. Dailey picked up an offer from Incarnate Word in April. Dailey should see his recruiting buzz rise this summer heading into his junior season.
