’25 WR | Will Cannon | East Grand Rapids | Hudl
Will is a slot receiver who gets it done in the middle of the field, in addition to jet sweep. He flashes very good vision in the open field. The highlight at 0:33 showcases his vision as he cuts back and has the speed and strength to outrun a few arm tackles. That said, Will is a hard runner who does his best to break tackles and keep his feet moving. More work athletically, with some practice running through tackles and keeping balance, will transform his game tenfold.
’25 LB | Will Zyskowski | East Grand Rapids | Hudl
Will has a great foundation at the Mike Linebacker position. He can read between the tackles decently well, and once he diagnoses a play, he does his best to work downhill to make the tackle. One big issue is that he’s quite undersized at 5’10” and 180 lbs, and it shows on tape. If Will can bulk up this offseason, it would really help his game in several ways. He also needs to work on quicker reactivity and some anticipation. If Will watches a ton of film on a weekly basis and gets stronger, he could be a very good varsity contributor!
’25 RB/S | Brock Jones | Catholic Central | @BrockJones2025
With the graduation of Kellen Russell-Dixon Kellen Russell-Dixon 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Grand Rapids Catholic Central | 2024 State MI , Catholic Central needs a new starting RB. Brock could be that guy. Last season, he showed solid vision, explosiveness, and he ran hard, just as you’d expect from a CC RB. The only thing keeping Brock from being a great high school RB is his size (5’10” 170). If he wants to be RB1, I’d expect Brock to bulk up a bit while working on his contact balance. He also plays slot and safety, which are positions he could perform at a high level at with his current size.
’25 K | Conor Neilson | Catholic Central | Hudl
A Kohls 4-Star kicker, Conor is undoubtedly amongst the best kickers in Michigan right now. He has a short follow-through, but the ball still launches off his foot. His kick progression is also one of the fastest I’ve seen, making his kicks difficult to block from the side. This is a position that I feel is 90% mental. As long as Conor keeps working on his accuracy and range in practice, he’ll have the physical tools to be a great kicker. The most important thing, however, is that he doesn’t fall into any slumps after missed kicks.
’25 LB | Derek Weiss Derek Weiss 5'10" | 170 lbs | LB Grand Rapids Catholic Central | 2025 MI | Catholic Central | @derek_weiss77
Derek is exactly what you’d expect from a starting Catholic Central linebacker. He’s a strong, physical linebacker who reacts very quickly to the developing play. Within less than a second, Derek is usually able to diagnose the play and work downhill to make a tackle, or drop back in pass coverage. Much of the time, it seems like the entire defense knows what play the offense is likely to run, which is a credit to the CC Coaching Staff. I’m also shocked to find that Derek is 5’10” 170. He plays like he’s 220, and he’s not afraid of contact. With a bit extra downhill speed and a bit more muscle, Derek could be a phenomenal GLIAC target very soon.
’25 WR | Josh Bruxvoort Josh Bruxvoort 6'0" | 145 lbs | WR Holland Christian | 2025 State MI | Holland Christian | @JoshB23football
Josh is coming off a solid season where he was a great possession target, hauling in 30 catches, 452 yards, and 3tds. He may not be the best at earning yards after the catch, but I love his catch radius and his ability to get open in the middle of the field. There are several plays where Josh is able to high-point the football and come down with a difficult catch, even if he’s about to get hit. His routes are another area that could use come improvement, but that can easily be cleaned up with some offseason work. If Josh is able to stay balanced through the catch and run cleaner routes, he could be one of the best receivers in the OK-Black.
’26 DL | Carson Ginn | Northview | @CarsonGinn7
Carson is a raw defensive line prospect, but he’s been a solid varsity contributor since his freshman season. He’s a self-reported 6’2″ 225, and he’s constantly posting videos of his squats (495lb max?). There’s no doubt that Carson has the strength and size to be an elite high school defensive lineman; he just needs to work on his fundamentals to earn it. His getoff and hand usage is especially in need of a re-tool. If Carson can be more explosive while working on his hands, he’ll be one of the most improved players in the OK Conference.
