Our spring camp tour began in Atoka on Tuesday evening as we saw some strong football down in southern Oklahoma. Antlers, Atoka, Holdenville, Hugo and Valliant all participated and we had a few takeaways. The first being Holdenville. It was the consensus among those watching on the sidelines that as far as the teams go, Holdenville was the most successful from start to finish.
Offensively, they ran that old school option offense with a lot of misdirection. This is an undersized team and they will have to scheme up opponents and execute it flawlessly. That was on full display on Tuesday night and it seemed like every time they were on offense, they were breaking another long run. Now, it wasn’t a perfect night by any means, but they have a lot of promise moving forward. Below, we have a “Top Performer” section and when it comes to Holdenville, you could take your pick. They had several players that all contributed at high levels and they certainly feel like the best example of “team football” with no superstars or flash but just going to work and executing.
And on the defensive side of the ball, they were flying all over the field. Their coach mentioned afterwards how they are going to rely on their speed because of the lack of size and that translated to how they played on Tuesday night. It’s only May but Holdenville feels like a team that could sneak up and surprise some people. Simply put, if you’re not ready for what they do offensively, you’re going to have problems on Friday nights. And when it comes to attacking them on offense, they are relentless at pursuing the ball and they impressed on Friday.
Below, we take a look at five players that caught our attention with their play on Tuesday. Three players are familiar names and guys that we’re used to seeing perform at a high level. The other two were new names for us in the 2025 class and we’re definitely looking forward to seeing what they can do during their senior seasons.

was featured by us as one of the players to watch at the various team camps this week and he lived up to the hype. Golston is starting to see his recruitment take off like a rocket and when he had the ball on Tuesday night, he was doing the same thing. Whether he was running between the tackles or out in the open field, Golston was looking to punish as many defenders looking to tackle him as possible. Golston would also line up on the defensive side of the ball and was ready to bring that same level of physicality to that side as a defensive end or outside linebacker. Valliant has a new head coach and between Kenny and his younger brother, the Bulldogs could be one of the surprise teams to watch this fall.

also caught our attention and that’s not a surprise. We already have Golston ranked very high within the state’s young 2027 class and like Kenny, he lived up to that hype. Kyng would cause a lot of problems for opposing offensive linemen throughout the weekend. We put the spotlight on Golston and just watched him specifically for several plays in a row and the impact was significant. On one play in particular, he would break through the offensive line and nearly tackled the quarterback before he handed it off to the running back. He was then able to drag the running back down with one arm. Golston is going to be a problem for teams to contend with and he has a very high ceiling.

– 2025 Wide Receiver – Atoka
While we knew about the Golston brothers coming into the camp on Tuesday, we didn’t know anything about Atoka 2025 wide receiver
Prince Coleman

and that quickly changed. Coleman was one of the first players that really stood out to us when we got to Atoka on Tuesday and he continued to make some pretty big plays throughout the night. The first thing that stood out was his wingspan. Coleman is incredibly long and the wing span extends his catch radius significantly and we saw that put into action several times, including a spectacular catch he made on the sideline right in front of us and several college coaches. Coleman moved to Atoka from Texas and missed some of last year with an injury. He’s back to 100 percent and looking to dominate this fall.

in person quite a bit on the 7v7 circuit but Tuesday was our first chance to see him with the pads on. Now, we’ll throw out a disclaimer here, it was a pretty quiet night for Shelton but that was by design. Hugo knows what they have with Shelton as a playmaker on the outside so they didn’t force the ball to him on offense. But Shelton did impress us and have a somewhat busy night on the defensive side of the ball at safety. And talking with a few coaches in attendance, Shelton was the one player that shined brightest in one coach’s view. Shelton has the potential to put up some big numbers this season within the Hugo offense and don’t overlook what he can do on defense.
Sherman Riemenschneider Sherman Riemenschneider 6'4" | OL Antlers | 2025 State OK – 2025 Offensive Lineman – Antlers
Our final top performer from Tuesday night was Antlers 2025 offensive lineman Sherman Riemenschneider Sherman Riemenschneider 6'4" | OL Antlers | 2025 State OK and he was another new name for us to learn, and learn how to spell! We came away impressed with Antlers up front on the offensive line. They had a few cats that had size and could move and had a lot of success going against the various teams in attendance. But Riemenschneider would really stand out and then his head coach would echo that sentiment while talking about him after the camp. He has good size, moves really well and is a player that will help a team at the next level. Don’t be surprised if this Antlers standout gets an opportunity to play at the next level. He’s a smart kid that should get an opportunity somewhere.
