2027 Rankings: Athletes Already Making an Impact!

For the most part, Allen lines up at safety/nickelback and is able to really impact the opposing pass and run. Allen has some great tackling technique- he does a great job pursuing, wrapping up, and bringing down the ball carrier. In addition to his tackling skills, Allen can really make a big impact out in coverage. He has shown the ability to match up with a wide variety of receiver types and never gets beat downfield for big gains. Jefferson has a great burst out of the backfield- his acceleration allows him to go from 0-100 very quickly and when he gets into the open field he's really hard to catch up to. Jefferson also plays with a lot of physicality and toughness, he's not afraid of contact, can absorb hits, and can lower the shoulder to flatten out defenders. When he's on defense, Jefferson is an excellent tackler and can really hurt opposing run games. Frequently on tape he quickly diagnoses plays, adjusts, and attacks the ball carrier  with ease. It doesn't matter where he initially lines up, he's always able to make an impact. Byrd is really valuable on offense as a wide receiver- he does a great job tracking and adjusting to the ball to make catches all over the field. Byrd also has a great set of consistent hands, an elite catch radius, and uses his size and athleticism to really beat and make plays over the top of defensive backs. Defensively, Byrd really showed a lot of promise as a pass rushing specialist- in limited snaps he has already made a big impact on opposing quarterbacks, generating pressure and getting sacks. At wide receiver Gober is able to create some great separation with his route running abilities, has a great set of hands he uses to make contested catches, and has the speed to stretch the field  and beat defenders for huge gains downfield. On defense, Gober has made a big impact at defensive back, he has the athleticism and instincts to consistently put himself in the right plays to make plays. Frequently on tape, Gober is able to fly across the field to receivers to break up passes. Last fall Gober had a really productive season where he ended up recording 22 receptions for 350 yards and 8 touchdowns as well as 22 total tackles on defense as well.
