Daughtry Gober is an athlete out of Hackleburg that was really productive last fall- consistently making plays on both sides of the ball as a dominant wide receiver and defensive back. At wide receiver Gober is able to create some great separation with his route running abilities, has a great set of hands he uses to make contested catches, and has the speed to stretch the field  and beat defenders for huge gains downfield. On defense, Gober has made a big impact at defensive back, he has the athleticism and instincts to consistently put himself in the right plays to make plays. Frequently on tape, Gober is able to fly across the field to receivers to break up passes. Last fall Gober had a really productive season where he ended up recording 22 receptions for 350 yards and 8 touchdowns as well as 22 total tackles on defense as well. At wide receiver Gober is really efficient- he routinely creates great separation with his routes, has a great set of hands, and can stretch the field for big plays downfield as well. On defense, Gober can make a big impact as a defensive back, he has the athleticism and instincts to consistently break up passes and lock up opposing wide receivers. Throughout the fall, all of this and more could be seen on tape- he ended up recording 22 receptions for 350 yards and 8 touchdowns as well as 22 total tackles on defense as well. Has explosive traits as an athlete. Able to use his size and strength to mix things up in press coverage without getting disrupted. Runs patterns to all three levels of the field. Snaps off routes cleanly at the stem, and doesn’t drift or let defenders back in. Shows the aggressiveness to go up and high-point the ball in traffic, and the team trusted him to make those catches this year. Good leaper with impressive body control. Knows how to use his frame to shield defenders from the ball. Body control near the sideline looks good.

Gober’s versatility is a key aspect of his success, he he has displayed a ton of skill on both offense and defense at both WR and CB. As a wide receiver, Gober has hauled in 17 receptions for 232 yards and found the end zone six times- he has shown to have some really solid athleticism and has a natural ability to make plays in the passing game. Defensively, Gober has also made his presence felt with 12 tackles this year. Right now, I think Gober projects better to the offensive side of the ball, but his abilities on both sides of the ball highlight his potential as a dynamic and multi purposed player. As he gains experience and continues to develop his skills, Gober is going to be a fun player to watch in the future!
