Continue ReadingWe continue to work around the state of Wisconsin identifying schools with a noticeably larger collection of soon to be senior talent that college coaches will want to make sure they stop into. Our next school is Monona Grove High School. Monona Grove is going to field impressive talent on both sides of the trenches and out on the perimeter; both sides there too. All of the ranked athletes sit inside our Top 200 for the Class of 2025 and could very well see a rise at the end of this summer. Plus we have a few at the end that we will be adding to the rankings at the end of the summer. The D2 and D3 levels specifically should hone in on this group of athletes. Let’s dive into the tape of these standout 2025s.
Max is a versatile OL recruit who spent time at guard and center in 2023. The 6’3″ 285 lbs junior is our top ranked prospect out of MG. The Hudl highlights show an IOL who thrives with his range and power. Max has a lot of plays showing him pull and kick out defensive linemen. He has solid short area quickness and packs a punch right at first contact. Sisler does a good job of gaining leverage and driving his feet through contact. The leverage and power combo has made him a very effective run blocker. Max is a tone setting IOL prospect to get eyes on. The 2025 is looking for that first offer. Check out his film below.

Next up we have a Top 10 DB in WI. The 5’9″ 170 lbs junior is an All Conference and All Area performer on the back end of the defense for Monona Grove. Watching the tape, the first thing that jumps out is how aggressive Chase is when pursuing the ball and tackling. He is undersized, but you don’t see that be a factor in bringing down the ball. The safety closes quick and runs through his target. Chase also checks the versatility box. We see success playing deep and reading the field and then closing with his speed. The junior also lines up in the slot where he can show off his quick twitch agility and athleticism to change direction and stick on his receiver. Yinko also offers kick return ability as well. The 2025 is ready for that first offer. Check out the tape of the versatile DB.

Another Monona Grove hidden gem is WR Cal Woerth Cal Woerth 6’1″ | 160 lbs | WR Monona Grove | 2025 State WI . The 6’1″ 160 lbs WR will need time to add some bulk at the next level, but his current size hasn’t affected his ability to take over games out wide. Cal’s longer frame gives his QB a solid target area. Cal stands out with his route running also. His body control and balance is a strength to his game that gives him the ability to carry a lot of speed through his route breaks. That leads to Cal having plenty of separation from the CB. Cal also brings 11.02 100M track speed to the field and it shows up as he stretches the field. His ability to track the ball in flight looks natural as well. Cal is a well rounded weapon that just needs time to fill out his frame. He is a WR to have on your radar.

One of my favorite athletes that I came across during the 2023 season was Will Knock when I covered a Monona Grove game live. At the time, Will was a 190 lbs DE, but that didn’t stop him from being a menace in the backfield. Will continued that impact through the season and ended up leading the conference in sacks. Will is continuing to fill out that long frame and is now up to 200 lbs. It will be very intriguing to see how the added size helps his game. On tape Will is a long, twitchy, agile, flexible edge rusher. He gets out of his stance with a solid first step, but really puts the pressure on OTs when he uses those short area athletic strengths. Will is able to bend and play at body angles that make it hard to land punches on. Knoeck is also a nightmare for an OT to try and mirror when he uses that lateral movement. Will put together strong tape vs a couple FBS OT commits in 2023, so don’t sleep on this kid. He can be an impact at the next level.

Sliding into the interior of the DL we find our next MG 2025 standout. The 6’3″ 245 lbs DT has a solid array of tools to win in the trenches with. We see him flash quick hands to win with hand fighting or swim moves. The junior also has solid strength in his lower body to be able to bull rush the IOL into the lap of the QB and wreck havoc. Jacob also brings position versatility to the field. He is also an OG on offense where we see those same tools shine. We see the short area quickness, having instant power at the point of contact, and having quick hands to make initial contact and get effective hand placement. Jacob holds an offer from UW- River Falls and is sure to earn more.
Tyler Donkersgoed
Tyler Donkersgoed
We just came across Tyler while working on this article, and I am glad we did. Tyler is a 6′ 185 lbs DB that made plays in man and zone coverage throughout the 2023 season. In man coverage we see the quick twitch reactive athleticism needed to stick right in his man’s hip pocket. Tyler is able to flip his hips, turn and accelerate, or attack downhill on a dime out of his backpedal. Tyler is great at the catch point breaking up passes and getting his hands in perfect position. In zone coverage Tyler shows off some solid football IQ. He does a good job reading the QB and trusting his athleticism to get to the ball when he sees the plays develop. This is definitely an athlete to look into.
Preston Huemmer
Preston Huemmer
Preston is another new name on my radar. He is a 5’11” 165 lbs WR who fits the mold of a slot WR at the next level. Preston wins with quickness over anything else. He uses his balance and burst in and out of breaks to leave CBs trying to catch up. Preston has soft hands that pluck the ball out of the air easily. The junior is a slippery runner after the catch as well. Look for him to take a step forward this fall with his impact and production.
