The national TE and for that matter NY TE shortage is because the TEs that are super athletic are usually defensive ends and TEs that are super big usually turn into tackles. In or rankings alone there is a top OL prospect who really plays TE in HS but won’t in college and another TE who is a much stronger DL prospect.
Regardless – there are actually a couple really talented TEs in this class with multiple Division 1 prospects and several high quality division 3 prospects.

#1 Overall
I have written about Pedreros a ton in our recruiting reports and have even seen him live at camps and there is a ton of potential beyond what you see on tape.
A true 6’6 240 Pedreros has the size and he actually showcases some good movement skills with some more twitch and quickness that you would expect for a player his size. He has strong hands but on tape what you really see if potential as a blocker.
Pedreros likely is a 250+ lb TE at the next level and has the length and motor to be a 3-down TE who can excel blocking in line and provide you with a threat over the middle of the field.
Highlights
The Next 9
Jake Kessner
Jake
Kessner
6'4" | 250 lbs | TE
Rye | 2025
State
NY
– Kessner really pushed Pedreros for the #1 spot in this group and they probably are my closest #1 and #2 prospects at any position. Kessner is a really impressive athlete who is the best receiving threat at the position this year. Already committed to Princeton which is an incredible program that has produced very successful college TEs Kessner is a player who I think is an FBS level guy with his ability to stretch the field. Kessner is also a really solid blocker but at the next level projects more has a 3-down pass catching threat.
Nate Shillingford
Nate
Shillingford
6'3" | 215 lbs | TE
Iona Prep | 2025
State
NY
– Shillingford is more of a hybrid TE/WR/H-Back and can really be utilized from multiple spots. Shillingford has the size and strength to be a lead blocker or kick out defensive lineman. He showcases the ability to run routes from multiple alignments and overall on tape showcases solid athleticism.
Jake Teitel

Teitel
6'3" | 215 lbs | TE
Clarkstown South | 2025
State
NY
– The Clarkstown South TE/WR plays mostly in a two point stance at WR but easily projects to TE with his 6’3 215 measurables. Teitel can make tough catches and showcases enough speed to separate down the field.
Brady Ellis

Ellis
6'2" | 220 lbs | TE
Skaneateles | 2025
State
NY
– Ellis a two way player for Skaneateles may play LB at the next level but I think he is a little bit better of a TE prospect. Ellis can adjust his body to make catches and has solid straight line speed to make plays after the catch. He shows some quality versatility being able to line up at TE or WR and runs really good flat routes has showcases the ability to transition from catch to run really well.
Timothy Battaglia
Timothy
Battaglia
6'2" | 240 lbs | TE
Chaminade | 2025
State
NY
– Battaglia who is also a LS prospect is one of the bigger TEs on this list. The 6’2 240lb TE/DE/FB is a phsyical blocker who really does well against bigger DL in the CHSFL. Battaglia doesn’t have many targets but in the short area of the field can make some plays after the catch and overall moves really well.
Teddy Galbraith
Teddy
Galbraith
6'4" | 215 lbs | TE
Carmel | 2025
State
NY
– Galbraith is a really solid TE prospect out or Carmel who has a ton of quality blocking reps on tape. Galbraith is long at 6’4 and has a solid punch off the LOS and maintains his blocks well. Galbraith has some solid reps as a pass catcher but with limited tape there it is more of a projection. I think he moves well enough to be an impactful pass catcher from the in-line TE position where his blocking stands out.
Jackson Lent Jackson Lent 6'3" | 230 lbs | TE Xavier | 2025 State NY – Lent who plays in-line TE at 6’3 230 for a run-heavy offense that features a lot of wing-t formations. He is a good blocker who can move to the second level well. Limited reps as a receiver but has good movement skills and shows really good lateral movement in some of his basketball tape on social media.
Martin Pusey Martin Pusey 6'4" | 185 lbs | TE Lindenhurst | 2025 State NY – I really like Pusey as a high upside pass catching TE. The Lindenhurst playmaker is a smooth athlete who can change direction and moves really well in open space. He attacks the ball in the air and catches away from his body with strong hands. Shows a lot of YAC ability with tons of reps on screens. He will need to add some weight to block around the LOS at the next level but absolutely has the frame to do so.
Isaac Lynch Isaac Lynch 6'3" | 225 lbs | TE Camden | 2025 NY – Lynch is a big athlete who can stretch the field vertically who can attack the ball in the air and make tough catches and also showcases a quality motor as a blocker. Also a defensive end I think he could flip to either side of the ball at the next level but I love his motor as a blocker on tape.
Two Names To Watch This Upcoming Season
A smaller TE prospect at 6’2 200 Coluccio plays a little bit bigger than his size and is a well rounded prospect. A player who can definitely add some to his frame he has the skillset to be a very well rounded D3 tight end. Coluccio is good blocker who plays hard and can be a reliable target with some ability to create after the catch.
Highlights
A blocking specialist Hanson is strong at the point of attack and can really take on defensive lineman who are bigger with physical hands and a high motor. Not a ton of reps in the passing game but Hanson’s skillset would be valuable at the next level as a blocking TE/H-Back and has the ability to impact the game on special teams.
