I didn't know if any camp would top the Jenison PM camp, but The HAWK AM camp may have done just that. There was a ton of phenomenal talent in every single position here. So, from the OAA to a tiny school up in the Thumb, here are my top 5 standouts from The HAWK AM Camp.

Trae was impossible to miss yesterday. From beginning to end, Trae was the most vocal player I've ever seen at a camp. From calling out coverages, WR routes, and encouraging others, Trae came into this camp with extreme focus and motivation. In the early-camp agility drills, I took note of Trae's agility and quick feet. There was a little wasted movement at the top of his breaks, but nothing too severe. In the few reps I saw him take against competition, he stuck onto his receiver well, but the ball very rarely went his way. Moving forward, Trae will 100% make his way into the rankings. I'll be watching his tape, and I'll try my best to get a detailed eval of his abilities. In terms of intangibles, Trae gets an A++ so far.

DE | [player_tooltip player_id='247640' first='Jordin' last='Farrow'] | River Rouge | @JordinFarrow_90

The next two prospects I talk about are all Rouge players, and I didn't even realize they were until after camp. Okay, so I spent most of my time near the linemen, and there are so many standouts I could talk about. Jordin was, without a doubt, the #1 defensive lineman, and I didn't even realize it was him until I talked to him post-camp. Jordin hasn't earned 15 offers on accident. His handwork, power, and twitchiness are near-elite. Against every single lineman, Jordin effortlessly swiped the OL hands away and sped toward the QB dummy. The only small knock is that I think his first step could have been a tad more explosive, but I know he's usually an extremely explosive player when he's able to utilize his bull rush with full pads.

G | [player_tooltip player_id='1298629' first='Deshawn' last='Wright'] | River Rouge | @Tjkdw

Deshawn was the most consistent offensive lineman of the entire day. Like I've said a ton in the past week, so many offensive linemen get out of their stance unbalanced with sloppy footwork and sloppy hands. Credit to the River Rogue coaches, because they have some of the most polished linemen on both sides of the ball. Deshawn has a great initial punch and works hard to immediately win the rep with strong arms and very good anchor. When D-Linemen attempted to swipe and club Deshawn's arms away, he had the strength to hold strong. Deshawn received an offer from Siena Heights post-camp, and I would expect him to eventually earn opportunities from some MIAA schools.

DE | [player_tooltip player_id='899579' first='Austin' last='Ericson'] | Romeo | @AEricson2025

Austin had another good showing at the HAWK. Last year, Austin was my #1 standout from the HAWK showcases. This year, he ran into better competition but still had his fair share of great wins. I note that Austin is unrelenting. There were times when he didn't immediately win off his first move, but his feet were always churning forward, and his motor allowed him to win several reps. In fact, I have 3 wins to 0 losses on my notes sheet. Maybe he would have performed better with full pads on where he could utilize his power a bit more. Regardless, Austin should attend more camps and I'm sure he'll earn offers.

QB | [player_tooltip player_id='1298633' first='Hunter' last='Garza'] | Deckerville | @Huntergarza2025

Man, I absolutely loved what I saw from [player_tooltip player_id='1298633' first='Hunter' last='Garza']. Coming into the camp, Hunter was a completely unknown prospect to me and I'd imagine all of the college coaches. I first watched Hunter as the QBs were practicing throwing a basic hitch route. Some QBs struggled greatly with accuracy and/or getting the ball out quickly enough. Out of the 5-7 reps I watched of Hunter, I only noted one rep where he was slightly inaccurate. During the competition portion, Garza was slinging it with phenomenal accuracy. I also saw few flaws in his footwork and throwing mechanics. The one glaring flaw I can point out is that he held onto the football for a long time on a few reps, and I'm not confident that Hunter is able to read a defense. With his talent, Hunter should be a college prospect. My gut says he'll end up receiving MIAA oppurtunites.
