Over 300 middle school athletes throughout the Volunteer State attended a tryout to make the 52-man roster of the 2024 Tennessee Future Stars. There were a ton of talented players from Knoxville to Chattanooga, and Nashville to Memphis, making the selection process a difficult one for Tennessee Future Stars Director Josh Jones and his team. Nonetheless, the rosters have been set and the clash with the Kentucky Future Stars is on in June. Here's a look at the Linebackers selected.

Including this year, the Alcoa Tornado has been selected to represent the Volunteer State in all three years as a Future Star in all three years of his middle school career. Up until recently we've had Henry listed as an ATH (Athlete) because he also plays some Tight End and some Running Back. However, after an MVP performance as a Linebacker at the Prep Redzone Next camp a few months ago, in addition to the selection as Linebacker for this team as Linebacker, it's all starting to become clearer for the kid they call u0022Man Manu0022.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["1188012"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"By all accounts, Sequatchie County is a program on the rise and it's athletes like Brooks McIntyre that are responsible for helping to get the program going in the right direction again. The SC Braves took home their third consecutive SVP Conference championship and in the process McIntyre was named an All-Conference player. Also a talented basketball player, McIntyre's selection to the team comes as no surpriseu002du002dbut the position is interesting. I do like him as an athletic Outside Linebacker that can run with the Wide Receivers and Tight Ends, but also physical enough to play off the edge, in the box. But, I love him as a physical presence at Wide Receiver. He racked up huge numbers this year on the outside for the purple and was an obvious stand out at the position. He'll be a plus player, no matter where he plays on the field for the Tennessee Future Stars.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":2,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-664e1c8835169"} /-->

Additional Linebackers

[player_tooltip player_id='1282553' first='Cooper' last='Jones'] | Middle Tennessee Christian - A long, rangy prospect who should have an immediate impact at Middle Tennessee Christian as a freshman this upcoming season, after the Future Stars Game. He has also played some Wide Receiver and Safety during 7-on-7 this spring. He's the younger brother of two-time All-State Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1089076' first='Brooks' last='Jones'], who is off to play baseball in college.

[player_tooltip player_id='1092653' first='Jackson' last='King'] | McNairy Central - A stud of an overall Athlete who wrapped up an incredible eighth-grade year at Selmer Middle School. Started at Quarterback in the West TN Middle School All-Star Game, an All-County selection in basketball and baseball, in addition to helping the Lions win a title in track and field. A good, strong build and brings toughness and effort to both the Quarterback position and Linebacker position.

[player_tooltip player_id='1282724' first='Prince' last='Foster'] | Whites Creek - A new name to me in this 2028 class in Tennessee. I'd be lying if I said I knew all that much about Foster, other than he's on the roster at a 5-foot-8 and 146 pounds and I'm told he also can play some Running Back. I look forward to seeing him play before he's off to Whites Creek High School to hopefully be a shot in the arm, for a program that hasn't had only two seasons above .500 in the last 20 years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1282796' first='Camrin' last='Hollis'] | East Ridge - Another prospect I haven't heard of, before being selected for the 2024 8th Grade Tennessee Future Stars. Like [player_tooltip player_id='1282724' first='Prince' last='Foster'] above, I can't find any film on him anywhere. Regardless, I'm intrigued by his size and length, as he's listed at 6-foot and 155-pounds. On paper, could be a nice Outside Linebacker for the Volunteer State.

[player_tooltip player_id='1282797' first='Jackson' last='Davis'] | Anderson County - Out of all the Linebackers on this 8th Grade Tennessee Future Stars Team--whether I've seen them before or not--Davis is the one I'm most interested in checking out. A member of the TVA Conference-winning Norris Middle School team this past season, he's big and long with a frame he's continuing to grow into at 6-foot-1 and 135-pounds. His older brother Eli Davis will be playing at Chattanooga this upcoming season, after beginning at Carson-Newman University.
