Smith showed promising flashes in limited action as the backup to one of the most productive QBs in San Diego last season, Jackson Diehl. He packs a strong arm with obvious zip and velocity on the ball. He shows advanced ball placement for his age and anticipates windows with on-time throws. Smith offers potential to produce a breakout season as La Jolla’s presumed starting QB in the fall.
Taussig’s a 2026 watchlist DL that transferred over to Carlsbad after playing both OL and DL for Cathedral Catholic’s JV team last season. He holds a strong, stout frame at 6’/205 and has shown steady improvement in his offseason work over the past several months. Look for Taussig to make an impact with his playing time as a junior in the fall.
Fitzpatrick’s an up-and-coming 2027 WL prospect that shows great potential in his lengthy frame and athleticism at 6’1”/175. He spent last season on the JV level for St. Augustine and figures to step into a role with the varsity squad in the fall given the high number of transfers out of the program this offseason. Look for Fitzpatrick to put his name on the 2027 radar in his sophomore season.
Allen’s a talented athlete that made plays out of multiple spots on both sides of the ball for Lincoln’s JV squad last season. He’s shown promising natural tools, skillset, and frame (6’0/160) at WR/DB and should be an impactful playmaker for one of the most talent-laden programs in the state over the coming years. Keep an eye on Allen as he continues to progress up the Lincoln pipeline.
Roa’s shown raw arm talent as Lincoln’s JV QB last season and on the offseason circuit at this early stage of his development. He possesses a strong, accurate arm for his age that can spread the ball around the field and thread passes into tight windows. He shows good mobility from the pocket and ability to make throws on the run. Roa has potential to develop into one of the top QBs in San Diego’s 2027 class over the coming years.
