Ronald Coty Ronald Coty 6'1" | 210 lbs | QB Kellis | 2025 State AZ , QB, Kellis
I think we are about to see Coty have a breakout season and put up ridiculous numbers both through the air and on the ground, as he has proven to be a dangerous dual threat QB. He does a great job on read options knowing when to pull or give, and showcases a nice north-south burst but also possesses good field vision once he crosses the box to bounce towards the numbers and finish big runs with good top end speed. I really like his poise and anticipation as a passer, as he shows good pocket footwork with active feet as he goes through his progression (0:40 into his Jr. year film). Very good ball placement with both velocity or touch depending on the coverage, and he does a great job throwing off of play action as well- getting it out quick without hesitation. Big potential for Coty as he enters 2024 as one of my top 5A QB’s.
Elias Johnson Elias Johnson 6'1" | 195 lbs | RB Saguaro | 2025 State AZ , RB/ATH, Saguaro
Johnson is a pure, gritty hard nosed football player all around that can excel anywhere on the field given his versatility on both sides of the ball. He was a former RB standout at Tempe his sophomore year, transferred to saguaro and played mainly LB as a junior in 5 games, now he’ll look to carry the rock again his senior year and I have very high expectations for this kid entering 2024. He sizes up with a strong, athletic frame at 6’0″ 200lbs and hits the hole with authority and a good pad level. Excellent balance and strength at the POC, frequently running through opponents to finish runs with tenacity. Don’t underestimate his ability to spring loose into space either, as I think he’ll showcase a new dimension of his top end speed.
Dean Vincent Dean Vincent 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Pinnacle | 2025 State AZ , LB, Pinnacle
Vincent showed a ton of promise last year as an EDGE and seemed to progress and develop quickly, as he was flashing a glimpse of what could be a large arsenal of moves along those edges. Really good size at 6’3″ 220lbs and possesses excellent length as well. His speed made him a mismatch against OT’s throughout his Jr. season, and once he started to figure out how to utilize his length and body control with his speed, he became dangerous. Fast rising kid that is checking all the boxes to land his first division 1 offer with his good combination of burst, speed, violent hands, and lower body power to drive opponents back. He does a great job reading and reacting to plays in a timely manner as well, and that will only slow the game down for him and make him that much faster physically and mentally as he enters his senior season. Really excited at what Vincent can bring to the table in 2024.
JJ Francis JJ Francis 6'1" | 170 lbs | DB Notre Dame Prep | 2025 State AZ , DB, Notre Dame Prep
Francis showed the ability to line up at CB and FS last year for NDP and did a great job all around. Excellent range in the back half given his top end speed and good ball skills to go along with it. Disciplined eyes as he understands his assignment wherever he lined up and did a good job staying technically sound even against crafty, speedy WR’s. He flashed good physicality as well with a big striking ability in the middle thirds, punishing opponents. I think Francis is going to be a true ballhawk DB this season whether he lines up at FS or CB or both, and should be touted with a heavy role and a big opportunity to rise his stock.
Benjamin Pollock Benjamin Pollock 6'3" | 285 lbs | OL Mohave | 2025 State AZ , OL, Mohave
Pollock is a big, strong kid at 6’3″ 285lbs that looks like the best offensive lineman in 3A right now. He’s played a major role on that Mohave OL for the past two seasons and will enter 2024 as a sure leader. He displays good balance with very good strength at the POC. Solid in a pass set as he shows a good center of gravity to absorb shock without getting knocked back, holding his ground very well while also utilizing his length to his advantage frequently keeping opponents at arms distance. He flashes good mobility to pull on certain scenarios and does a great job identifying his assignment as he approaches the second level. A very polished offensive linemen overall, as he checks all the boxes to play at the next level.
