Prep Redzone looks at the returning QB situation in the Region heading into Spring.
—-Returning Starting QBs——-
- Alpharetta Raiders
Easy #1 pick here as the Raiders return one of the Top overall QBs in the Class of 2026 in the State. Rising Junior DJ Bordeaux DJ Bordeaux 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Alpharetta | 2026 State GA returns this Fall. He passed for over 2400 yards with 26 TDs last year. He had an outstanding overall QB rating, 128, after only throwing 5 ints in 215 attempts. Bordeaux already holds several D1 offers with more on the way.
He returns his 2nd favorite target from a year ago, UGA TE commit Ethan Barbour Ethan Barbour 6'3" | 215 lbs | TE Alpharetta | 2025 State GA , who had 49 catches for 966 yards with 12 receiving TDs.
2. Lambert Longhorns
The #2 spot was a toss-up, but I gave the edge to Longhorns and their returning dual QB system.
The Longhorns return 6’3 195 rising Senior Marshall Coleman and rising Junior 6’2 180 Ethan Daughtery. The QB duo split time last year, leading Lambert to the 2nd Round of the playoffs. During the regular season, the pair combined for a little over 1900 yds passing with 18 TDs.
What stands out is the WR spot for Lambert in ’24. They return about 95% of their production from 2023. Rising Seniors Christian Smith Christian Smith 6'3" | 225 lbs | LB Harrison | 2025 GA , Cameron Bland Cameron Bland 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH Lambert | 2025 GA , and EJ Hartwell combined for 82 receptions for 1300 yards and 12 TDs.
Bland is a 5’11 RB that led the team in rushing last season and is a weapon out of backfield good hands.
3. West Forsyth Wolverines
It was a tough decision between 2nd and 3rd.
The Wolverines return the top dual threat QB in the Region in rising 6’5 190 Max Walraven Max Walraven 6'5" | 190 lbs | QB West Forsyth | 2026 State GA . He passed for over 1500 yards and added 387 yards rushing with 20 total TDs for the Wolverines last Fall. 1st Team All Region QB that has the arm and legs to be a standout at the next level.
The Wolverines are also solid at the receiving core next season, returning nearly 75% of their production from last season. RB Foster Orris Foster Orris 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB West Forsyth | 2025 State GA , who rushed for over 1000 yards last season, is a target with good hands out of the backfield. Rising Seniors Topher Delp and 6’2 242 TE Hunter Green Hunter Green 6'2" | 230 lbs | TE West Forsyth | 2025 GA also had double digit catches last season.
4. North Forsyth Raiders
The Raiders return 2025 6’1 180 dual threat QB Elijah Seaney in ’24. He accounted for 1966 yards last season with 24 total TDs. Quick decision maker in the pocket who can pull it down and take off. Good speed.
The Raiders return about half of their receiving production from ’23 on a squad that like to spread it around with 13 different guys catching balls last Fall. Senior Brady Holbrook returns who led the team in receptions and TDs in ’23, athletic multisport guy that is a top level baseball recruit. Also returning is senior Nate Gravitt who had 28 catches with 4 TDs, a speedster that is a deep ball threat.
5. North Atlanta Warriors
The Warriors were a surprise team in 2023. They went 9-1 during the regular season and gave powerhouse Houston Co a run for their money in the 1st Round of the playoffs.
6’3 205 Ian Reynolds Ian Reynolds 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB North Atlanta | 2025 GA returns for his Senior season in 24. Maybe the most underrated of the QBs in a strong Region for QB play. Was a 1st Team All Region selection last season and has won several QB awards this off season. Good arm with the mobility to escape the pass rush and make throws on the run. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if he is awarded the QB of the year in this Region by seasons end.
The Warriors will have to replace about 50% of their production at the WR spot. They do return Seniors Grant Thompson Grant Thompson 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB North Atlanta | 2025 State GA (6’1 170) and Henry Debardeleben (5’10 170) who will be counted on more this Fall.
6. Denmark Danes
6’3 205 Dual threat QB Matthew Baer Matthew Baer 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Denmark | 2026 GA returns for the Danes in 2024 for his junior season. Good arm, mobile, and is a threat to pull and run at any time. Has good poise in the pocket and is a quick decision maker. Has seen his stock rise this Spring and will be one to watch this Fall.
The Danes return most of their receiving production from last year. Rising Junior Noah Laban is a good option out of the backfield. Rising Senior Dylan Brozena is a solid target down field.
7. Forsyth Central Bulldogs
The Bulldogs are the final school on the list that is scheduled to return their starter in 2024.
6’0 rising Senior Drew Reid will be back under center this Fall in Cummings. The multisport athlete is a true dual threat. Has good escape ability in the pocket and is a throwback old school football player that would rather run through you than around you.

8. South Forsyth War Eagles
The War Eagles will be looking to replace their QB1 this Fall with the graduation of Cade Aycock who passed for over 1500 yards in ’23. Rising 6’2 180 junior Walker Clark got to see a little action last Fall passing for 57 yards and a TD vs Lanier. Multisport kid that should be in the competition this Summer for the QB1 spot.
South Forsyth is not only rebuilding at the QB spot, but they also lose about 90% of their receiving production to graduation. Rising senior Harrison Spencer (6’2 180) appears to be the go to guy heading into the Summer. He had 16 receptions last year for 160 yards.
