Castro was one of the top overall performers at the Under Armour Next All-American Camp recently.
He chose USC over 10 other schools that offered him including Cal, Utah and Washington.
Castro is the second player from California in USC’s 2025 recruiting class.
Highly-ranked class of 2024 offensive lineman Joshua Glanz Joshua Glanz 6’6″ | 290 lbs | OL Eastlake | 2024 State CA announced his commitment to Southwestern College last week.
Glanz was committed to UCLA but withdrew his commitment in December. He had an injury-ridden season in 2023 and decided to go the junior college route.

Northwood class of 2025 athlete Joseph Harper picked up his first offer from Penn.
He had a monster junior season with 11 touchdowns on offense and a county-high 17 sacks on defense.
Cajon class of 2025 athlete Jered Rennick Jered Rennick 5’11” | 180 lbs | DB Cajon | 2025 State CA was offered by Connecticut last week.
Rennick had 774 yards receiving last season with four touchdowns for Cajon and had an interception on defense.
He will visit UCLA this weekend and also has an offer from Missouri State.
Torrance athlete Jake Silverman Jake Silverman 6’0″ | 210 lbs | ATH Torrance | 2025 State CA added a pair of offers from UC Davis and Idaho this past week.
He had an incredible junior season with 166 tackles, 10 sacks, 14 forced fumbles and three interceptions on defense.
Offensively he had over 1,300 yards with 19 touchdowns.
Silverman is up to six offers now including San Jose State, Nevada, Wyoming and Washington State.
