Castro is a dynamic athlete with a good combination of natural coverage instincts and technical ability. He’s a lockdown corner that can use his speed and change of direction to track the hip and stay in phase at all three levels. Smart in coverage, he’s able to anticipate and recognize routes as the play develops to bait QB’s into bad throws and create turnovers. Well-coached, he’s got good footwork, eye discipline, and hand usage to maintain positional leverage during the route and with the ball in the air. Reactionary quickness allows him to get an early break on the ball with good body control and timing at the catch point. Jumped almost 30 spots in the overall 2025 state rankings to break into the top 20 and hold the #4 spot at his position.

Upland class of 2025 defensive back Trestin Castro Trestin Castro 6'2" | 165 lbs | DB Upland | 2025 State CA announced his commitment to USC last Tuesday.

Castro was one of the top overall performers at the Under Armour Next All-American Camp recently.

He chose USC over 10 other schools that offered him including Cal, Utah and Washington.

Castro is the second player from California in USC’s 2025 recruiting class.
