I was locked in to the 15U division and will have several team reports, featuring their top performers this week. We’re kicking off the coverage with a look at Breakthrough Elite from the New England area.
This team was dominant on Saturday and early on Sunday in bracket play. They would make a run to the semifinals before losing to eventual champion AIT. This team was full of young talent that is already on the radar of our New England writers and they’re only going to get better from here. Below, I put the spotlight on four guys that really stood out throughout the two days in Pennsylvania in one way or another.
Charlie Cornell – 2026 Wide Receiver
For the player breakdowns, we start off with 2026 wide receiver Charlie Cornell and simply put, he was one of our favorite players to watch this weekend. Cornell had the shades on throughout and whenever we see that, we want to see that player produce and he did all weekend long. Every time I had eyes on the Breakthrough offense, it felt like the ball was going to Cornell more times than not. And we liked the versatility in his game this weekend. He finds a way to get open and was running a variety of routes. His separation from defensive backs was something that stood out but he also made plenty of contested catches.
Elijah Guertin Elijah Guertin 6'3" | 210 lbs | TE Bishop Hendricken | 2027 New E – 2027 Tight End
Out of the four players on this breakdown, 2027 tight end Elijah Guertin Elijah Guertin 6'3" | 210 lbs | TE Bishop Hendricken | 2027 New E was the most physically impressive of the bunch. You get prospects like this every now and then at the 15U level but Guertin has a very high ceiling moving forward based solely on his size. He doesn’t look like a prospect who is about to finish up his freshman year in high school. Guertin wasn’t as productive on a consistent basis as some of the other receivers but based on his size alone, he’s going to be someone to keep an eye on. He moves around well and he did make some impressive plays this weekend. Raw but a lot of upside.
Jabari Jackson Jabari Jackson WR Bishop Hendricken | 2027 New E – 2027 Wide Receiver
2027 wide receiver Jabari Jackson Jabari Jackson WR Bishop Hendricken | 2027 New E had a big weekend and was very productive from start to finish. He tore it up on Saturday and then came back and got off to a fast start on Sunday. We don’t have official stats or anything similar to that but it felt like Jackson was at or at least near the top of the team in touchdowns this weekend. He found a way to get open and has a lot of juice to his game. The 1-2 punch of Cornell and Jackson at wide receiver was definitely one of the top wide receiver combos that we saw in the 15U division this weekend. Jackson can really build off this weekend moving forward.
Landon Husereau Landon Husereau 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Westerly H.S. RI. | 2027 State New E – 2027 Quarterback
And finally we have the quarterback. 2027 signal caller Landon Husereau Landon Husereau 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Westerly H.S. RI. | 2027 State New E had a really strong weekend and he was definitely in the conversations among the best 15U quarterbacks. And when you look at this breakdown and see the playmakers on the offensive side, there’s no doubt that Husereau benefitted from having some absolute ballers around him. But watching him throw the ball, he looked the part as a QB prospect. Husereau had a great ability to float the ball and lead his receiver to an empty spot in the defense. Opponents rarely got a chance to get a hand on one of his passes this weekend.
