Expert Analysis
Roger Brown | Prep Redzone Scout
Landeron Husereau is a record-setting quarterback from Westerly (R.I.) High School who will play for Ernie Adams at Phillips Andover (Mass.) Academy in 2026. Husereau passed for 2,829 yards and a state-record 40 touchdowns last season, when he led Westerly to the RIIL Division II Super Bowl title by beating South Kingstown 44-21. He owns the Rhode Island record for career touchdown passes (90) and tossed six TD passes in the championship game against South Kingstown. Husereau is an accurate passer who can make plays under duress, however we’d like to see how he performs when facing better competition like he will see at Phillips Andover. He can also improve his speed, although he is a run threat and can pull away from some defenders because of his long strides. Currently has an offer from Brown. Hureau missed three games during his sophomore season because of a shoulder injury.

from Westerly High School in Rhode Island, is making waves as a talented quarterback. Standing at 6’2″ and weighing 195 pounds, Landon’s skills on the field have not gone unnoticed.
Landon recently shared, “I’ve been in communication with a number of schools and have been scheduling visits for this spring. Brown has been a top school for me. I’ve visited about eight times total, including JR day in February and a spring practice yesterday (3/17), with an offer pending my SAT scores. I have upcoming visits scheduled with Holy Cross (3/21), Sacred Heart (3/27), Villanova (3/27), University of New Haven (3/28), and Maine (4/18), and I’m currently working on scheduling visits with URI and Fordham. I’ve also received camp invitations from Boston College, UAB, and UMass. I’m continuing to build relationships and train/compete this offseason.”
With multiple visits on the horizon and a commitment to personal development, Landon is taking serious strides toward his future in collegiate football. Coaches and scouts should keep a close eye on his progress, as he is undoubtedly a player to watch this season.

The 2025 season has officially rewritten the record books in Rhode Island. It’s time for college coaches to take serious notice of the signal-caller in Westerly.
Scout’s Analysis: Husereau didn’t just improve; he made history. Landon led the Bulldogs to their first Super Bowl title in over 20 years. He threw for 2,829 yards in the season. He also set a state record with 40 touchdown passes. Now Rhode Island’s all-time career TD leader (90), he has physically “filled out.” He has added noticeable velocity to his deep ball. His football IQ is elite, consistently drawing defenders with his eyes to create openings.
Areas for Growth: Husereau is a dominant Pro-Style prospect with improved rushing effectiveness. He would benefit from off-season training focused on fast-twitch muscle fiber recruitment and speed.
Recruiting Outlook: With a frame that has reached 6’2″, 195 lbs, Husereau’s stock is at an all-time high. Verified testing this spring will likely solidify his level of play in the recruiting world.

Laindon shows lots of skills early this season. He plays with good feet and poise in the pocket, and targets receivers with accuracy. He has good ball placement on the boundary and can make throws on the run. He is also tough enough to carry the ball; but his skills are best seen throwing strikes all over the field.

Landon can do a bit of everything. He has quick feet and hips, and can get the ball out fast. He plays with good field vision and makes good decisions with the ball. He can also get out of the pocket and make plays with his feet. Lots of potential with Landon, keep an eye out for him.

Landon has big arm. He is a mobile QB that can make throws in the pocket and outside. When he is outside the pocket he does an excellent job of keeping his eyes on his receivers finding open targets. When he tucks the ball and takes off running he gets down hill very quickly creating separation with his long strides. His ability to throw the deep ball accurately is a strong talent of his. He will be one to watch this fall for sure.

MVP Performer: A consistent name that we heard all fall season for weekly top performances and he displayed why at the showcase. Has a solid frame with plenty of room for additonal growth. His mechanics are very good and he performed with a sense of high confidence within his skills. This is a rare trait for a young prospect and a very good indicator of future college prospect.
rnThe college coaches instructing QB’s were highly impressed with his performance on the day. His high ability to process – timing and work through his progressions was on full display during the competition period. He also flashed skills to make all college throws such as digs, curls, posts, fades, and comebacks. He separated himself on the day by being consistent with his throws which led him to the overall MVP choice for quarterbacks during the showcase.

Here’s another 2027 that’s caught my attention. Has a 4-minute mid-season tape on Hudl.
- t
- Currenlty stands at 6’0, 175 pounds.
Said tape opens up with Husereau flicking a 50-air yard throw that hits his man in stride for a touchdown. Talk about depth perception, talk about accuracy, talk about arm strength without a massive hitch or drawn out release. Reps like this grabs your attention quick. Working in wide sets primarily, Husereau proves he can catch the snap and deliver accurate balls on timing routes as well, which you can argue is much more important than flashy passes downfield. Is capable of working zone-read sets out of gun, can even tuck and throw swings in true RPO fashion. Would love to see this kid at a camp. Raw arm strength too, there is power behind his tosses even 20-30 yards downfield, just don’t see that too often out of underclassman. Not a fairweather QB either, delivers some darts under pressure or on the go.

Landon Husereau /Class of 2027 | 6’0 175lb | QB at Westerly HS | ‘22 & ‘23 FBU Top Gun | QB at Breakthrough 7v7 | landonhusereau@gmail.com
This rising freshman QB has turned heads around the state of Rhode Island. In seven games, he has completed 69 passes in 117 attempts for 1050 passing yards and 14 touchdowns. He has turned in consistent performances each week. I look forward to evaluating his season film at the end of the season. My early projection is he will be ranked within the top 100 of the 2027 class after the season.
