Cameron has been a guy I’ve been overlooking as of late. Not on purpose, but I just haven’t gotten around to deep-diving Cass Tech yet. It’s been a while since I watched his film, and I’ve got to say he’s improved. Now, he’s a linebacker. And a great linebacker at that. He does everything you’d want as a coach. Fast, reactive, can go sideline-to-sideline, hits hard. The first thing that immediately stands out is his sideline-to-sideline ability. A lot of linebackers barely have any of those kinds of highlights, and Cameron has several. As an off-ball mike, he does a great job at pursuit and running down ball carriers. He also hits hard, and doesn’t allow the ballcarrier to fall forward. He also works through blocks quite well. The highlight at 1:33 shows great reaction, anchor, then sheds the block and makes the tackle against a very good A&T offense. I could go on and on, but just know that Cameron is a phenomenal high school linebacker.

H: 6’0″ W: 175
Amare is an off-ball outside linebacker who plays much bigger than his actual size. He looks and is undersized for the position at 6’0″ and 175, but he plays like he’s 225. That said, he’s a good run-stopper, can get after the quarterback when needed, and is overall a very fearless player. All Amare needs to do is work on his body and get bigger, faster, and stronger. He could be an awesome college prospect, he just needs to earn it.

It’s not every day I find a good kicking prospect, but we 100% have one in Geroge Sanchez. It’s pretty easy to evaluate his skillset. As a kicker, he can boot the ball 40-45 yards with good consistency. His kick at 0:33 is especially impressive. On kickoffs he can boot it into the endzone, kick it within the 5 yard line, and sky the kick to the middle right or left of the field, oftentimes acting like an onside kick but better. I’m not sure what kind of college opportunities he’ll get, but I think he’ll receive a few opportunities if he impresses this offseason.
’25 WR | David Calmese David Calmese 5'8" | 165 lbs | WR Detroit King | 2025 MI Jr | Detroit MLK | Twitter
H: 5’8″ W: 155
David is a very similar receiver to Will Skyes, whom I covered above. He’s a speedy, explosive slot receiver who can get it done in the open field. They give him opportunities in space quite often, and he does a great job at weaving his way through the defense for an explosive play. He also has a few highlights showing good hands, and his route running is solid as well. A bit more time in the weight room and attention to detail on his routes would improve his game a lot.
’25 WR | Jaelyn Martin | Cass Tech | Twitter
H: 5’10” W: 160
Jaelyn hasn’t broken out yet, but has a big opportunity next season to do so. He has all the tools. His film shows off good speed and good blocking ability, and knowing how well Cass Tech players develop, no-doubt he has some good downfield potential. According to Athletic.net, his 100M PR is 11.87, which is decent for a wide receiver. With a good offseason, Jaelyn could have a productive 2024 season.

H: 5’11 W: 170
David is a promising athlete who mostly excels as a defensive back. He has a few good highlights in man coverage, and it’s apparent that he’s motivated and skilled at being a great DB. He does a good job at locking onto his receiver and has decent speed. His verified 100M time on Athletic.net is 11.8, which is decent for a DB but needs improvement if he wants college offers.
’27 OL/DL | Markel Byrd Markel Byrd 6'4" | 310 lbs | OL Detroit Renaissance | 2027 MI | Renaissance | Twitter
H: 6’4″ W: 312
Markel is a highly intriguing freshman offensive line prospect. First off, he has the size to be a legit great college prospect. He’s a brick wall with great height. However, it’s obvious from his film that he doesn’t have much experience playing the offensive line. His fundamentals need a lot of work. I hope Markel puts in a lot of effort this offseason, and if he does, he could take a leap during the 2024 season.
