David lands himself at #150 during this update. Although he doesn’t have any offers on his Twitter, David has proved his worth this offseason. Down at the Prep Redzone Hoosier State Hustle, David put up a dominant performance. He was twitchy, understood the entire route tree, and came down with several difficult-to-catch balls. David’s film shows much of the same.
I’m not sure why the recruiting attention isn’t there yet, but I’m confident that the offers will eventually come. He’s ranked alongside many D2 prospects, and I think he could one day be a good GLIAC target.

Calmese has been doing everything in his power to solidify his spot as one of the best slots in the state of Michigan. “Fatbaby” has elite speed and change of direction to get behind defenders, and when the ball comes his way, it’s a sure thing that he will haul it in. His catch radius is absurd for his size, and his vertical serves him well. In that Detroit King offense, I think Calmese is going to have an incredible season and see his offers start rolling in.

I know I mentioned him already this weekend, but I can’t overstate how good David looked this weekend. He has fantastic body control, he stays ahead of the defender, and his cuts are nearly impossible to predict. He doesn’t tip off his route at all, and when he cuts, he makes defenders look silly. Coaches told me they couldn’t believe he didn’t have more offers, and one well respected coach told me he was probably the best wide receiver he had ever coached. Calmese has taken huge steps from when I saw him last, and I think he’s only going to continue working and getting better. Whoever snags him is going to be incredibly lucky to get such an offensive force!
