Jeremiah Stewart had a nice showing last weekend in the 14U division of the Music City Mayhem tournament. The 256 Family was a strong team, making it all the way to the semi-finals of the tournament. Stewart was a key player in their success at the quarterback position. He did a great job distributing the ball to his playmakers with great touch. He displayed good arm strength, even against some tough wind on day one of the tournament.
Aaron Gonzalez – ATH – 256 Family
Aaron Gonzalez was another noteworthy player on the 256 Family. He really stood out to me on day one with his big-play ability. As a wideout, he can stretch the field as well as climb the ladder for 50/50 balls. I was really impressed with his overall athleticism with the ball in his hand. He was no slouch on defense, excelling in man coverage and shutting down opposing wideouts. In the game I was covering on day one, he had a game-clinching interception.
Landon Wiley – QB – Camp Elite
Landon Wiley had a really solid weekend overall at the Music City Mayhem tournament last weekend. Wiley was one of the smaller quarterbacks in the division, but that didn’t stop him from standing out in 14U. His ability to put the ball on the money with great ball placement away from defenders was something that stood out to me. He does a nice job in sprint outs, excelling in move-the-pocket type throws. Wiley takes care of the ball and doesn’t force throws.
Jonathan Quartey – WR – Unity
Jonathan Quartey was a difficult cover for opposing defenders all weekend long. Against single man coverage, he has the ability to take the top off the defense. He really shines in the red zone with fade balls where he can go up and snatch the ball from the sky over corners. He is also deadly when running in-breaking routes; when running dig routes, he creates a ton of separation leading to touchdowns. On defense, he was also able to come away with multiple interceptions.
