Bursting onto the scene as a freshman is the South Dearborn stud who isn't just showing potential on the field. Already being a part of the 800lb club as a freshman, Lane is a big weight room guy and it shows on tape. He's as strong as they come for his age. He's able to plow through double teams and make tackles in tight spaces. Even when being held, he's able to find a way out. He's a relentless player on the field and will run down the ball carrier from 20 yards behind. 36 tackles, 4 TFLs, 2 sacks, and 1 fumble recovered is what he put up during year 1, but it's safe to say South Dearborn's defense should be in good hands moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1212609' first='Kamari' last='Loggins'] - West Side - ATH - Height Unavailable - 170lbs

He was the only freshman to work his way into a role for West Side last season. He's an explosive and twitchy athlete. He's creative at the line and can get home from multiple points. He's a high-motor player who can refine his crafts to be effective on multiple levels. He also carried the ball as a freshman showing he can be explosive through the hole but yet won't go down without putting up a fight through contact. His freshman season saw him put up 23 tackles, 3 TFLs, 1 FR, and 1 PBU with 66 rushing yards and 1 TD on the ground.

[player_tooltip player_id='1212611' first='Jaxson' last='Owens'] - Lawrence Central - OL/DL - 5'10" 235lbs

A thicker lineman who is quickly developing the body and frame to be a pivotal piece in the interior of the line. Offense or defense, it seems Owens is going to be ready for either side of the ball. He's strong, has powerful hands, and can move around the interior. On the offensive side of the ball, he can come downhill violently in the running game. The passing game needs some love, but it always does as a young recruit. Owens's freshman year saw him making plays on the JV squads and setting his sophomore year up for success.

[player_tooltip player_id='1212610' first='Porter' last='Prather'] - Danville - LB - 5'11" 180lbs

Immediately working his way into a prominent role and showing that he's going to be a piece to build around for years to come is Prather. The freshman LB is well-built and has a frame that you can see he's been developing and working on behind the scenes. It paid off right away as he came in, got his feet wet, and by the end of the year was a confident impact player. He can hit, cover, and tackle in open space. 37 tackles, 4.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, and 2 passes batted down round out what he put up on the stat sheet. He's talented and could lead the LB room in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1130247' first='Drew' last='Jones'] - Carmel - DL - 6'1" 215lbs

An upcoming defensive tackle for Carmel who may be able to provide some help in the interior of the line moving forward. He's growing nicely into his body and has broad shoulders and really long arms which give you hope he's not close to being done growing. His hands are huge and his feet are long. Jones has all the makings and signs of a guy who can develop physically into a D1 prospect, but it'll be up to him and his production to see if he makes it. He's physical and can play the run which only helps from the start. Jones is 100% a guy to keep your eyes on long-term.
