Quinn Frisell and his 612 Quarterbacks training academy are changing the landscape of prep football in Minnesota. In the burgeoning industry of high school trainers, Quinn is one of my favorites, as he's in it for the right reasons, is a natural coach, and brings an experienced and extensive playing background to the benefit of high school quarterbacks and receivers from all around the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Quinn has cleaned up the mechanics and bettered the game of gunslingers since he founded 612Qs a few years ago, and I was very excited to get an invite to attend yesterday's Offensive Skills Camp at the Concordia-St. Paul dome in St. Paul. With over 100 quarterbacks and wideouts from four different states and five graduating classes, PrepRedzone had a lot to look at yesterday afternoon, and I'm excited to share my Top Performers from the 612Qs Offensive Skills Showcase below, ending with the Quarterbacks. Let's dig in.

Quarterbacks

Bib #24: Osborne Lorenz (Mankato West) 2027.

Real eye-catcher size wise. Younger brother of 2025 offensive center and experienced road-grader [player_tooltip player_id='245762' first='Axel' last='Lorenz'], so I expect him to continue growing and filling in. Flashed a big arm at times but was inconsistent. Nothing too surprising from a freshman, and his size and the last name already make him a name-to-know.

Bib #9: Tee Sylling (Maple Valley, ND) 2025.

One of the top quarterbacks in North Dakota, Sylling had a good day all around slinging the pigskin. Could throw it to all three levels of the field with accuracy, consistent in his mechanics, and a good build on him as well. I could see him playing scholarship ball at the next level.

Bib #7: Kane Donnelly (Somerset, WI) 2025.

Donnelly came in and had a good day in December at our PrepRedzoneMN Stock-Up Showcase and he continued his solid offseason yesterday in St. Paul. Long, lean frame that could blow up in a collegiate S&C program, I didn't see an incompletion from Donnelly during the multitude of reps I saw.

Bib #38: Everett Arnold (St. Louis Park) 2027.

Long way to go in the mechanics department, but Arnold is already 6'4, 220 and is going to continue growing. At this age, it's not set in stone whether a kid will stay at QB, so a big body with some athleticism at such a young age is always noteworthy.

Bib #5: Gavin Anderson (Little Falls) 2025.

Not the biggest QB in attendance, however, Anderson was a coaches favorite and one of the most consistent QBs in attendance at Saturday's Showcase. Lefty, fundamentally sound, quick and concise release, strong arm, could put some torque on the rock, and solid accuracy, not to mention coachable and mentally sound. I was very excited to get Anderson onto my radar for the first time thanks to the 612Qs Showcase.

Bib #12: [player_tooltip player_id='725721' first='Thor' last='Soukup'] (Maple Grove) 2027.

An already established name in the 2027 MN class and the statewide QB scene, Maple Grove's [player_tooltip player_id='725721' first='Thor' last='Soukup'] is quite developed physically for a freshman. Wide shoulders, thick and muscular in his upper and lower body, and possessing one of the strongest arms in attendance, Soukup can really push the ball downfield, and although he was inconsistent in his accuracy throughout the day, when he is on, it's really hard not to notice the freshman. Lots of tools to work with and well above your typical freshmen quarterback at this stage of his prep football journey.

Bib #22: [player_tooltip player_id='1201408' first='Grant' last='Benson'] (Buffalo) 2026.

Verified 6'3, with a ton of room to fill in, Benson was one of the most exciting new names I added to my rolodex from Saturday's 612Qs Showcase. Benson can really put some spin on the rock and has a clean, concise throwing motion that keep his upper and lower body in synch. Accurate, good timing, and could hit at all three levels of the field.

Bib #15: Jake Evers (Mountain Lake) 2025.

Had a sneaky good day on Saturday at Concordia-St. Paul. Consistent, carries himself with poise and some swag, and wasn't afraid to push it all over the field.

Bib #23: Tanner Rothbauer (St. Francis) 2026.

Another top sleeper and performer from Saturday. One coach we talked to said Rothbauer was the best in his group and hit every throw asked of him. Also had a good deep ball for his size and age.

Bib #4: Cael Bruning (Spencer, IA) 2025.

One of the few juniors in attendance had an excellent day throwing the ball. Great touch, got the ball out quickly and with force, and was consistent all afternoon long. Fun to watch and comfortable all over the route tree.

Bib #11: [player_tooltip player_id='489731' first='Kaden' last='Harney'] (Maple Grove) 2026.

I thought the best QB in attendance was Maple Grove's sophomore sensation Harney. The combination of size, age, poise, and arm talent is really superb. One of the top gunslingers in what could be a legendary 2026 MN QB class. Harney has touch, timing, velocity, ball placement ability, and can really stretch the field. Clean mechanics, looked good maneuvering around the pocket during drills, and plays and carries himself well above what his age would suggest. Really excited about his future and potential development.

Bib #44: [player_tooltip player_id='205850' first='Iggy' last='Amorrortu'] (Minnetonka Middle West/Holy Family Catholic) 2028.

If you're around the MN prep football scene as much as I am, there's no way you haven't heard of [player_tooltip player_id='205850' first='Iggy' last='Amorrortu']. The future Holy Family Catholic QB was one of the most physically developed middle schoolers in attendance at a thick and powerful 6', 185 pounds as an 8th grader. Good lord, this dude can really rip the rock. Excellent velocity for his age, accurate, and had more control of the football than I'm used to seeing from a middle school quarterback. He'll be able to make the transition to high school ball easier than most.

Bib #47: Reed Creighton (Belle Plaine) 2028.

One of the best middle school QBs I've ever seen from the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Would be closer to the top if it wasn't for [player_tooltip player_id='224134' first='Nick' last='Kinsey'] coming into the scene hot so recently. Creighton has the chance to start next year as a freshman in Belle Plaine, and the high school staff has to be excited about the local product they have on their hands. Creighton wowed me with a beautiful moonshot of a deep fade that dropped right into the breadbasket of the streaking receiver in what looked like a throw from a high school upperclassman as opposed to an 8th grader. Arm talent, timing, confidence, accuracy, coachability, poise, understanding of the position, Creighton has all the makings to be a very successful high school quarterback. And sooner rather than later I must add.
