Continue ReadingMitchell is one of the few freshman quarterbacks in the county who got meaningful varsity reps this season.
He had eight touchdowns with just one interception because he makes the right read most of the time and has some zip on the short throws.
Mitchell has a quick release and always has his eyes on the secondary. His athleticism makes the linebackers pause in pass coverage and he often makes good throws to receivers behind those linebackers.
Mitchell shines in play action and has a ton of upside.
Spencer is a great athlete who got varsity playing time at receiver last season.
He is a dual threat with an accurate arm who can throw off-platform. Spencer reminds me of Nathan Manning, a Capo Valley quarterback who had a lot of success, except Spencer has more upside.
The future is bright at Capo Valley with an excellent freshman class, led by Spencer.
Highlights
Thomas is a highly-regarded freshman who transferred to Western (Anaheim) from Serra of Gardena.
He is smooth in everything he does. His throwing motion is nice and he knows exactly when to escape the pocket to extend the play.
Sometimes on film he eyes down his primary receiver, but he is young and that is something more playing time will fix. Thomas has a ton of upside and the Western coaching staff will be able to develop him nicely.
