A lot to like about Thomas’ size, skillset, and athleticism. At 6’6” 280 lbs. he’s got ideal length with a well-balanced frame and natural movement skills. Possesses power and strength to be a violent finisher at the POA as both a run blocker and in pass protection. He’s got a quick and heavy punch with good extension and placement to knock defenders off balance at initial contact. For a big guy, he comes hard off the ball with a flat back and good pad level to gain positional leverage. He’s patient at the contact point, always under control and balanced with his feet inside his framework. A plus athlete that can work to the second level and be effective blocking in space. Just recently picked up his first offer from Wagner but will see his recruiting stock on the rise with P5 size and ability.
1 Offer: Wagner
Highlights
Mackey had a breakout junior season with 1,015 yards on 59 receptions with 12 touchdowns. At 6’3” 185 lbs. he’s a well-rounded athlete with size, speed, and leaping ability. Using his length, he’s a big target that shows great hands and extension to catch balls outside his framework. He does a good job mixing up speeds and setting up his routes to create positional leverage and separation. He’s a strider with deceptive speed to stretch the field vertically and be a deep threat. He shows good ball judgement skills and tracking ability, especially down field and on 50/50 jump balls. He times out his jump and attacks the ball at the high point to make acrobatic catches over the top of defenders. His straight line speed allows him to runaway from defenders once he finds space after the catch. Possesses a lot of tools colleges look for in an outside receiver and should see a bump in recruiting going into his senior year.
Cocke is super athletic at 6’4” 230 lbs. with the ability to be an inline TE or stretch out to the slot. He’s got great size for a college level TE but has the movement skills and body control of a WR. He’s a natural hands catcher that has great coordination and adjustment ability with the ball in the air. Shows he can make tough contested catches in traffic and even made several impressive one-handed grabs on tape. Does a really good job finding the soft spot in coverage and creating a throwing lane for the QB. Plays tough and physical, especially after the catch where he shows good strength and ability to run through contact and pick up extra yardage. Not just a receiving TE, he also is an effective run blocker that can drive opponents off the ball bringing his hips and feet upon contact. Picked up his initial college offer from Montana State in January and checks all the boxes as D1 level TE who is expected to add more as the recruiting cycle progresses.
1 Offer: Montana State
Ackerman is a dual sport athlete (football/basketball) and one of the top 2025 offensive linemen in the state. At 6’4” 255 lbs. he’s a plus athlete with great growth potential to add size to his frame as he develops. He’s a mauler that explodes at the POA driving his hips and feet through contact to finish opponents to the ground. Has a great ability to sustain his blocks and control defenders with strong hands and good footwork. Love his ability to match movement and use his athleticism to adjust and recover from defenders moves. Plays with a wide base and good contact balance to drive opponents off the ball. In pass protection, he’s quick to get into his set and mixes his hands well to counter moves and hold positioning. Holds two FCS offers to date and was voted 1st Team All-League on both sides of the ball. He’ll see P5/G5 offers come his way before long.
