The QB out of White River took home MVP honors for the position group. He’s got an accelerated release to get the ball out quickly and on time at the short and intermediate levels. He’s a precise passer that hits his spots and throws his receiver open. Like his touch and trajectory downfield, can layer the ball over second level defenders and puts good air underneath the deep ball to allow the receiver to run under it.
Highlights
Grant’s got a wide skillset with a well-built 6’0” 220 lb. frame. Natural arm strength gives him the ability to push the ball vertically and throw with velocity in a tight window. He stands tall in the pocket with calm feet and good balance. Possesses an easy over-the-top delivery. Can see his athleticism in his pocket mobility and as a runner. On film, he shows a great ability to improvise and create plays when protection breaks down. His size and skillset could transition well to either side of the ball as he develops.
Ung is a plus athlete with good rhythm as a passer. He’s got good feet to be quick into his drop then landing with a well-balanced throwing platform. Like his combination of quick release and timing to anticipate his receivers coming open and put it on them as they come out of the break. Good ability to be accurate from the pocket and on the run. Does a good job squaring up his shoulders to his target when throwing outside the pocket. Can make plays with his legs using his good lateral agility and short area burst to make defenders miss as a ball carrier.
Highlights
Impressive dual-threat skillset for Harper. At 6’0” 210 lbs. his athleticism showed in the testing period leading the position group in almost every category highlighted by a combine leading 118” broad jump. He’s instinctual and savvy both as a passer and ball carrier with his ability to create throwing lanes and evade pressure. Like his ability to maintain accuracy throwing off different platforms and on the run to either direction. Shows good footwork and mechanics in his drop back and throughout his throwing motion. Smooth delivery but gets good velocity on throws in traffic and towards the boundary. A lot to like as he enters his senior year.
