Twitter Film Study: Week 2

He is a very mobile guard who is effective climbing to the 2nd level, pulling and trapping. He can get out of his stance fast to seal off any defender with the strength and finishing ability to drive them to the ground. Being in a run heavy offense, his film did not include any pass pro clips. Although in run blocking I can confidently say that he is good in-line and even more impressive when he gets out in-space. His play strength and power are very obvious just by watching a couple clips of his film. He is the last guy you want to leave unblocked with his speed and acceleration to the quarterback. His ability to beat tackles out of their stance and get around them is impressive. He is mainly more of a speed rusher but shows good strength and enough power to drive back tackles. He also plays the run well and shows good ability to get off blocks and find the ball carrier. He is great at finishing plays and affecting them even when he doesn't get a hit on the quarterback. He is very effective while running crossing routes with his ability beat defenders to the inside and outrun them. He shows good concentration and body control with a wide catch radius. His film also proves that he can be a reliable target to come down with contested catches in traffic. He runs good routes in all three levels while excelling at shorter, out-breaking routes. Get him the ball in space and he will get yards after the catch. He shows to have most of his success running the ball from the wing with the ability to go up the middle and has the speed and quickness to get to the outside effectively. Where he really impresses is how much of a threat he is as a receiver while also having the vision and elusiveness of a running back. For someone that takes a lot of handoffs, he shows that he is also comfortable lining up on the perimeter and running medium to deep routes. His ability to seal the edge while lined up as a wing also stands out and could translate well to perimeter blocking at the next level. Last season he proved that he can more than hold his own as only a sophomore against some of the best competition in the state of Ohio. His vision and burst stand out right away. He can effectively run the ball both inside and outside with good elusiveness and break tackle ability after breaking through the LOS. He is also good in the screen game and shows good hands and route running as a receiver out of the backfield.
