Continue ReadingMaurice Barnes Maurice Barnes 6’2″ | 200 lbs | LB Bishop McDevitt | 2026 State PA is a dynamic and explosive linebacker. Barnes has great instincts and does a great job of reading and reacting to the play and then coming downfield to make a play. Barnes is a good athlete who runs sideline-to-sideline to make plays all over the field. He is an excellent tackler who when he tackles an offensive player feels the punishment. Barnes is also an excellent blitzer and can blitz from different positions on the field. Barnes also played some defensive end and he made a ton of plays from that position as well. Barnes is a talented player who should have an excellent chance at playing College Football.
Nazir Jones-Davis Nazir Jones-Davis 6’0″ | 185 lbs | RB Bishop McDevitt | 2026 State PA is a legit running back who can go for a big play any time he touches the ball. Jones-Davis made one of the best plays I saw last year in the playoff loss to Dallas. He caught a screen pass at the 10-yard line and Jones-Davis broke 4 tackles to score a touchdown. Jones-Davis also is a physical runner and is hard to bring down. He has legit speed and when he gets into the open field he is off the races. Jones-Davis is one of the best athletes in the 2026 class.
Stone Saunders Stone Saunders 6’2″ | 200 lbs | QB Bishop McDevitt | 2025 State PA the Kentucky commit is one of the best quarterbacks in the 2025 class. He has great mechanics and can make every pass from the pocket. Saunders does a great job of scanning the defense making the right read and then finding open receivers. Saunders is also good at moving in the pocket and keeping plays alive to find open receivers. Saunders has a chance to finish his career as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in the history of Pennsylvania.
Chris Thompson Chris Thompson 6’0″ | 265 lbs | DL Trinity | 2026 State PA transferred over from Trinity to McDevitt in the off-season. His film from his sophomore year was impressive. He is a one-man wrecking crew from his defensive tackle position where he destroys offensive linemen by pushing them back into the backfield. He has a great stance and just explodes off the ball to create havoc for the offense. Thompson shows good strength and athleticism for a defensive tackle. I am excited to see his progress next season as a Junior.
Jontai Quick Jontai Quick 5’10” | 150 lbs | ATH Bishop McDevitt | 2027 State PA is one of better athletes in the 2027 class. Here is what I wrote about him earlier this year:
“ Jontai Quick Jontai Quick 5’10” | 150 lbs | ATH Bishop McDevitt | 2027 State PA played slot receiver last year for McDevitt and made many plays for them. He is good at the quick passing game, where he can catch short passes and make people miss in the open field. He has good hands and catches the ball well in space. Quick also has good speed and runs by defenders when they are close to him. Finally, he runs good routes and is very deceptive with his speed. Quick had a good year and should be able to build off it next season”.
Sebastian Williams Sebastian Williams 6’1″ | 180 lbs | QB Bishop McDevitt | 2027 State PA is a talented prospect at quaterback. Here is what I wrote about him earlier this year:
“ Sebastian Williams Sebastian Williams 6’1″ | 180 lbs | QB Bishop McDevitt | 2027 State PA is stuck behind 2025 Kentucky commit Stone Sanders, but he did get a chance to play Junior Varsity and some time on Varsity. Williams shows solid mechanics in the pocket. He does a nice job of setting his feet and throwing the ball. Williams also does a great job of extending the play and either looking to pass the ball downfield or run for extra yards. Williams flashes some good skills at quarterback”.
Highlights
Lucas Lawler Lucas Lawler 6’3″ | 220 lbs | LB Bishop McDevitt | 2025 State PA is a talented defensive player who can do many different jobs on defense. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year:
“ Lucas Lawler Lucas Lawler 6’3″ | 220 lbs | LB Bishop McDevitt | 2025 State PA is a talented defensive lineman who does a good job of getting after the quarterback to create pressure. In the 1st quarter against Manheim Central, he created a safety by sacking the quarterback in the end zone. Lawler is a player whose motor never stops and constantly makes plays in the offensive backfield. “
Liam Fuller Liam Fuller 6’6″ | 230 lbs | TE Bishop McDevitt | 2026 State PA is an old-school type of tight end used exclusively as a traditional tight end, rather than used in the slot. Fuller has great size standing 6’6″ inches tall and is built like a brick house. He is built more like an offensive tackle than a wide receiver. As a blocker, he is a good blocker who does a nice job of engaging and then blocking on the edge. As a receiver, he runs excellent routes and catches the ball well. He isn’t the fastest guy, but he makes up for it with his positional and route running. Fuller is a talented player who should only play better next season.
Highlights
Jaden Garnes
Jaden Garnes
Jaden Garnes has limited film but flashed good skills from his strong safety/outside linebacker position. He shows a good ability to read and react to the play and then triggers downfield to make a play. He is a good tackler, especially in the open field. He also flashed good ability to blitz off the edge. Garnes should only improve going into next year.
Ja’Kye Logan
Ja’Kye Logan
Ja’Kye Logan played right guard last year. Logan is a massive human and moves very well for his size. He does a nice job of pulling and lead blocking on run plays. He shows off good strength by engaging and blocking defensive tackles. He is good on double-team blocks by peeling off blocks to get to the next level. Logan has all the tools to be an elite offensive lineman and should improve next season.
JJ Torres
JJ Torres
JJ Torres played right tackle last year. He is another massive lineman that defenders have a hard time going around. He is perfect at pass blocking where he moves his feet well to stay in front of edge defenders. He shows his athleticism when he pass blocks by constantly staying in front of defenders. In the run game he shows good strength to go down and block defenders. Torres is a talented player.
Dominic Diaz-Ellis Dominic Diaz-Ellis 6’0″ | 170 lbs | WR Bishop McDevitt | 2025 State PA transferred to McDevitt from Columbia last year and did not get to play a lot of playing time. Diaz-Ellis is still a legit wide receiver that can score every time he touches the ball. He is perfect as a slot receiver and he can use his speed and elusiveness to run by defenders, I expect Diaz-Ellis will be a much bigger contributor this season.
