We return to the Prospect Database to find more athletes that are deserving of the spotlight being shined on them and their film. Last week we looked at the 2027s. This time around we are going to the Class of 2026 to find more diamonds in the rough. If you are a prospect and aren’t in our database make sure you get an account created. It is free to join, and very valuable because so many schools use it to find potential recruits. Let’s get into the tape!
Hawken has seen his stock take off towards the end of last month when he received offers from Austin Peay and Akron. The sophomore OL is now up to 6’3″ 300 lbs. Anderson fits well at center where he uses his big frame to create a strong pocket. He is quick to get the snap off and instantly engage with NGs. The anchor strength is there to stand up NGs at the line. The upper body on Anderson is very strong too. We see him control a lot of NGs to the ground. Take a look at several of his game films.
Justin is an exciting signal caller coming through the Illinois pipeline. The sophomore has a strong frame that has helped Justin become a talented passer. The arm strength is natural. Justin makes it look easy to let one rip 40 yards downfield either from the pocket or on the run. His clean mechanics get the ball out quick and allow him to get that big frame behind the ball when he really needs to uncork it to get it downfield. Justin also impressed with his accuracy from the pocket and rolling out. Again the consistent mechanics aid big time in being able to pinpoint the location of his passes. I’m excited to see how the sophomore continues to develop as a passer. The traits of a college QB are showing up already.

It will be interesting to see if Jaylin makes the move up to varsity this fall. The sophomore RB was electric at the JV level this past fall. His mix of vision, agility, and burst made him a nightmare to contain. Even between the tackles, Jaylin is quick to identify blocks and finds the daylight quickly. Once he finds those he can either accelerate or make a juke/jump cut and then accelerate out of it. Jaylin also ran through arm tackles surprisingly easy. Jaylin could make an excellent change of pace back.

I have quickly become a fan of Patrick’s play at LB. The 6’2″ 205 lbs LB/OLB has the athleticism needed to excel at the position. You can rely on him out in space, use him as a spy or delay blitzer, or send him right away. That athleticism is boosted by a high motor. Patrick triggers downhill against the run instantly. He is able to slide laterally, or shed blocks in order to get to the ball. At OLB you see a great example of his power as he can take on blocks and hold his ground to force the ball back inside. Cheney is developing a strong base of talent.
