Safety prospect with good height and smaller build that should be developed over the next three seasons. Good athlete with good speed, and change of direction and solid hip fluidity and balance. Good vision and reactions as a deep safety, keeping his head on a swivel to keep his eyes on receivers and reading the eyes of the QB. Solid range with ability to cover hash-to-hash or hash-to-sideline. His solid change of direction allows him to close on a WR and make a play on the ball. Good ball skills, with very good timing to hit a WR after he touches the ball to force an incompletion or an immediate tackle. Good ability to under cut a route by his quick reaction to reading the QB with good hands to secure an interception, with solid ability as a ball carrier to create yards after the INT. Good in run support and can be counted on to make a tackle in the open field.
Highlights
Max lines up as an off-ball linebacker and EDGE player. He’s a solid athlete with solid speed, foot quickness, change of direction, and explosion. Good in Zone coverage, with good processing and reaction, keeping his head on a swivel and restricting throwing lanes. Solid versus the run, able to shed blocks and make a tackle. Excited to see him develop and grow his game over the next few seasons.
Highlights
Camden is a player to watch over the next few years. He aligns as a down 30 front end and plays with relentlessness every play, pursuing the ball carrier until the whistle blows. He has good initial quickness off the snap and very good use of hands. He has already developed a good swim and rip move and has the processing to swat offensive linemen’s hands away during their punch. He has good flexibility and bend to dip past an offensive lineman and has good gap discipline when defending the run. Good lower body strength to hold a double team and shows the ability to split it. Good range defending to the sideline and able to track down ball carriers who gain the edge. He is disciplined in his pass rush lane, conscious to not over rush the QB in the pocket, and often used to set the depth of the pocket to catch the QB as he steps up. He has already received a Division 1 offer from Appalachian State, and I expect more will come for him.
Highlights
I was able to attend a Radford game this past season, and JD quickly stood out to me as a freshman running back on varsity. He is a good athlete with very good foot quickness, lateral agility, and change of direction with good acceleration, solid speed, and balance. He is an elusive runner who is patient in following his blocks in Gap concepts and has good vision and reaction to make a cut in Zone concepts. He has good burst through the hole, with solid run strength and balance to keep his feet against arm tackles. His lateral agility and change of direction allows him to create yards when a play breaks down and make a move in the open field to evade second and third-level defenders. JD can run a basic route tree out of the backfield with good hands, and has the ability to run after the catch with his good athleticism.
Highlights
Reece aligns as a down DE in a 30 front on Radford’s varsity team. He is quick off the ball with good pad level and bend while remaining disciplined to his gap. He utilizes his long arms to engage and separate from offensive linemen and has good strength to hold his ground. Has good vision, looking through the offensive lineman with good run/pass read and reaction. He has developed a spin and rip move to shed blocks. He has solid lateral movement to attack down the line of scrimmage to make a play and display continuous pursuit until the whistle blows. He has solid pass-rushing skills and is good at setting the depth of the pocket and getting his hands up to deflect passes and disrupt the QB’s timing.
Highlights
Luke is a name to watch. He spent last season as a backup to Radford’s starting QB Landen Clark who is committed to play at Elon this fall. He will have the opportunity to compete for the starting job this season as a sophomore. His current film is limited, he is a Pro-Style QB with good height and you can tell he throws a nice ball. Will be excited to see what the future has in store for Luke.
